A/N I love stories about Elphaba and Dorothy, I'm not sure why.

Dorothy was sweeping the floor of the Witch's castle and wiped the sweat from her brow.
'It's too hot for anything.'
She had finished sweeping the floors, for what seemed like the 10th time, and it could possibly be. She heard the Witch's voice from above her, it sounded… different. Her curiosity got the best of her as she crept up the stairs silently.

She peeked into the door easily since the door was left cracked open, what she saw shocked her. The Witch didn't only sound different, she looked completely different. Her hair wasn't stringy and dirty but long and silky. She was tall and had a good posture unlike the first time Dorothy had met her. But her face, her face was the most different. She looked rather normal, except the green skin of course and she was smiling warmly while she was writing something and looking over occasionally to the note on her lap. Her eyes were a chocolate brown and troubled; there was no anger there like she had first seen but still sadness and wonder. If Dorothy had it her way she's say that she was… well, beautiful.

She was making her way to turn when she sneezed from the dust on the steps. 'Oh no.' She thought. She turned around to see the Witch towering over her.

"What do you want, girl?" She asked, but she didn't sound angry, just tired.

Dorothy stared for a moment before managing to stutter, "I-I just wanted to tell y-you that I've finished sweeping." She turned around to leave and made it halfway down the steps when she surprised herself by turning around, "Miss… uh... Witch?"

She heard a groan of a chair as it was scooted back from her desk and soon after saw her standing in the doorway.

"You know when I was born my parents didn't name me the Wicked Witch of the West. I have a name, it's Elphaba is you care at all." She sighed. "Well, what is it, Dorothy?"

At that time she noticed that the Wit- no, Elphaba had never called her by her name before.

"Miss. Elphaba I just wanted to say, you don't seem to be the person everyone says you are." And Dorothy ran down and disappeared at the foot of the steps, leaving Elphaba for the first time speechless.

.:Oz:.

Elphaba sat at her study thinking about the Girl when Chistery came to her with a letter.

"Thank you, Chistery."

She unfolded the piece of brown parchment and read;

Dearest Elphaba,
Miraculously, I've managed to escape. Thanks to the spell you've cast on me.
I've had to pay a great price, but my love is still strong for you. I only hope that you
will still want me when we meet.

I have a plan for us and I will come to you and explain it.
Tell No One I still am ALIVE!
My only hope-
OUR ONLY HOPE IS FOR ALL OF OZ TO THINK I'M DEAD.

Elphaba held the letter to her heart and cried for the first time in years, even though the letter wasn't signed she knew who it was from. "Yero, my Hero." She whispered.

The letter actually is what they use in the play, so yea- I don't own that.
