Lost Horizons

Remember this day little brother.

I remember these words, first spoken with joy and then with unbearable melancholy as my long life draws to a close. I still remember him, his devilish grin, brash tactics, and deep voice, a voice that alternately commanded armies and soothed me when my nightmares drew in close about me.

I wonder if the Grey Havens exist, and if so will he be there on it's grassy shores eagerly awaiting our reunion? Or will there simply be an endless black abyss, one that damns its visitors to an eternity of loneliness? Or maybe there will be nothing at all but an endless sleep, peaceful and unknowing as a babe in the womb?

I know not for all my knowledge the answer to this mystifying riddle. My last moments are now upon me, I can feel it in my bones. I hope I will see Boromir again, and if not, hope that he knows I'll always love him. Weakly, I lift my head for one last look at my beloved Gondor, the sun conveniently slipping beneath the horizon just as my remaining life force slips through my fingers.

Disclaimer- I do not own any other the characters or places portrayed here, nor am I making any money from this work of fiction.

Author's Note- I appreciate any and all review no matter how blunt. Also, I'd be interested in knowing how I did on Faramir since he will not go away. He keeps making me write about him!
