This is my first time writting a story here so, please judge me freely but not too heavily. Also I own everything in this story, so it isn't really a fanfic but hey, enjoy!

May 3rd 2010

I wake up with a start, only to see pieces of shattered window on the floor. My heart pounds in my chest, and feels like it's about to come straight out of my throat. I can't move, although my brain is telling me to run for my life. I'm pretty sure I stopped breathing ages ago, and let out a shaky breath. It's then, that I hear the blood curdling scream that shatters my heart and sends shivers down my spine, my mother. All of a sudden my body takes control and I run towards the scream. My mother on the kitchen floor, in a pool of blood, a knife in her hand - probably the one she took out of her chest. After while of staring, my mind registers what has happened. and a man standing with a cruel expression on his face. Sniggering at me, at me, a 13 year old. The next thing I know I'm running at him, me, running at him. He easily grabs me and holds me by my arms with one hand, and covers my mouth with the other. I bite his hand and he jerks it back, I feel blood in my mouth, gross. I grab the frying pan from the cupboard and smack him on the head with it, seen it in movies, works I guess. Then I start running for the phone, and call the ambulance and the cops - and rinse my mouth. When they arrive, I'm taken in a separate car to the hospital. They take my mother in for an emergency operation, a women sits with me, because I can't stay by myself or something. I think she has to sort of look after me until they work something out or something, I'm not really paying attention, I'm frozen in the fact that I might not have a mum anymore… I've already lost a dad. My hands are shaking and I almost can't breathe, and I gradually start getting dizzy. I lean back in my seat.

"Are you alright sweetie?" I barely hear her ask. I nod faintly, but can't help it as my eyes shut and feel myself falling to what I think is my right side.

I slowly open my eyes and the sudden light blinds me. I close them shut and try my best to get used to it.

"Wha-what happened?" I manage to stammer.

"It's alright don't worry." I hear the nurse say.

"What hap-happened?"

"You don't remember anything?" She asks.

"Umm, no. I just remember sitting, and…" I get lost in thought when the doctor starts,

"You see, your mother is in… operation because, she was stabbed. But don't get yourself worried, she's in good hands." All of a sudden it all comes rushing back.

"MUM!" I sit straight up.

"Hold on there, we need to do a few simple checks." He says.

"But I'm fine!"

"Don't forget your health while thinking about her's, look I know your worried, but at least you won't be waitng, you'll have something to do until she comes out."

"Wait, so she's still in operation?" I ask.

"Yes, I told you." The doctor replies.

"How long have I been out?"

"About 8 minutes." Just 8? Really? Seems like a decade. Then the nurse approaches me with a few items to do the 'checks.' She starts off with checking my blood pressure.

10 mins later…

Turns out I'm fine (never listen to the patient, typical) and my mum is still not out yet. I've been waiting for 15 minutes now, with that women who turns out is really nice, her name is Zoe Parker. Then the doctor comes out.
