Just a really short MattxMello one-shot. I think Matt is secretly a bit paranoid in this one, but I think I would be too, if Mello was staring at me all the time. Then again, if I was near a Mello (ha, Near. Such a bad pun) in the first place, I think I'd be doing the staring.

So, enjoy the short yaoi-ness, and review J

A MattxMello Drabble

Matt looked at Mello from the corner of his eye. Yep, still staring at him, like he had been for the past half hour, thinking Matt was too engrossed in his game to notice. But notice he did, and it was really starting to grate on his last nerves.

Switching his attention back to Zelda, Matt yelled out in frustration as Link died for the fifth time in as many minutes. Throwing down his controller, he spun around to face the blonde, who quickly tried to pretend that he hadn't been staring.

"Mello, what is your problem? Seriously? Do you realize how distracting it is when you're staring like that? I'm trying to play here, and you weren't even blinking," he accused, lifting his orange-tinted goggles from his eyes and onto his head. Mello blinked at a ridiculous speed, as if trying to prove Matt wrong.

"I don't know what you're talking about, Mattie," he replied, snapping off a bite of his precious chocolate.

"Mello. Have I something on my face?"

"No."

"Then why were you staring?"

"I wasn't. Stop being so paranoid."

"Stop playing the dumb blonde, Mels, it's unbecoming," Matt teased, knowing there was nothing Mello hated more than insults to his intelligence, especially accompanied by that nickname.

"So what were you staring at?"

Mello sighed, placing the remainder of his chocolate on the bed beside him. "Honestly? Your gaming face turns me on."

And really, there was no response to that, other than to just stare right back. Matt opened his mouth to say something, then closed it again, repeating the motion so much that he resembled a goldfish. Mello, starting to feel a tad awkward, went back to his chocolate, looking at everything but his friend.

In that solitary moment, many homosexuals were born.

In the same moment, Matt decided it was a good time to finally come out of his little game filled closet., and he crossed the short space to the blonde, took his face I his hands, and kissed Mello, full on.

Perhaps it would've been smarter to let Mello swallow his chocolate first, but neither boy cared at the time, both entangled in a battle of tongues.

"And that, Near, dear, is how I'm with Mello, and you're not. Well, that and the fact that nobody likes you," Matt concluded, taking a pull of his cigarette as Near glared at him in a display of both jealousy and horror.

"Whoever said I liked Mello anyway," he muttered, stalking back to his Matt shrine.
