Mercy Thompson by Patricia Briggs (who owns the Mercy Thompson and everything with it.)
So this is a little one shot I wanted to do and it is set in "River Marked" page 279. Adam is telling Mercy how he will take her away in six months and this is set that night. I know I am bad with grammar so you don't need to tell me. I'm writing this because I enjoy the books so much and like to write.
Mercy POV
Adam picked me up and carried me over to our bed to set me down lightly. He sighed as he opened the pill bottle and gave me the two pills.
"After everything it's a shock I'm not an addict." I said trying to lighten the mood. Adam gave a small laugh. "Let's try not to jinx it."
After I took the pills I could feel the effects start to work when Adam got into bed beside me. He put his arm around my midsection bring himself close to me. His face soon went to my neck and inhaled.
"Six months…then we can try the honeymoon again. " He said, his words mumbled against my skin.
"Right, San Diego, New York, or Paris." I was able to hear my words beginning to slur. "You know where I really want to spend the do over?"
"Hmmm?" he face never moving from my neck to breath in my sent.
"How about we stay here…lock the bedroom door…and don't answer it for anyone….and Darryl can leave food outside of the door."
His laugh vibrated against me and I gave a smile. "That sounds like the best thing I have heard all day."
"Wow your day must have really sucked." I said in a teasing voice.
"O it did. My wife almost broke every bone in her body." He lifted his head to look at me. I opened my eyes just a slit to look at him.
"Wow that does sound bad, guess it's a good thing you love her." I smiled again.
"Yes. I do love her." With that he brought his lips down onto mine.
"That good because she loves you too."
Ok…so how did you like it? I'm thinking of writing a few more one shots when I can. I'm off from school and haven't heard back from any on my interviews for jobs so I have free time. I just really wanted to write some Mercy/Adam love. They are just so perfect. FYI I have not read Night broken yet but trust me I have it on hold from the library and cannot wait! Although it is pretty clear that I will hate Christy with a passion.
Please review and let me know if this was a good one-shot.
