SOMETIMES (Aaron Hotchner)
Sometimes, Aaron Hotchener wanted to think it was all a nightmare and he would wake up any minute. That Foyet was just a bad dream he had had and that Haley would come trough the door, yelling at him because he had let Jack have ice-cream on a school night. Yes, Aaron Hotchner sometimes wanted it all to not be real. But it was.
However, he repeated himself he had to look on the bright sight of all that shit. So, when late at night he had those nightmares in which he replayed Haley's death in his mind, he would first feel two slim but strong arms tighten around his torso. Then, he would take a couple of breathes. Finally, he would open his eyes and look at Spencer. The younger profiler was rarely awake, so Aaron could take a good look at his lover without the other noticing.
He would look Spencer. Really study his face while strocking his blond hair. He was fascinated by Spencer's eyes when they stared back at him, but he quite enjoyed them shut as well. Those eyes always told him a lot of things. Sometimes, more than he wanted to know. Then, there were Spencer's lips. They were as quick as a lightbolt when reciting stadistics but they were soft and (even after two years) shy when kissing Aaron's.
Suddenly, Aaron's left hand rushed against Spencer's neck and the doctor shifted a little. He looked up and brown met brown.
"You ok?" he asked with a sleepy voice.
"Yeah. Just thinking. Go back to sleep" Aaron answered.
"You too" Spencer replied. Then, he adjusted himself on Aaron's chest again and drifted back to sleep.
Aaron smiled.
Sometimes, he wanted it all to be a nightmare. But it was times like this that reminded him that life has given him (and Jack) a second chance. That they have found a treasure and that he could never lose it.
