I am venturing back into drabbles (they're too hard to resist), but this isn't part of the 100-Drabble Prompt Challenge. It's just...me, dabbling about scenes in Imladris that are too short to publish separately. Each drabble has a prompt that I chose for it, but it's counted for now as the chapter title. Thank you for reading!

"Erestor?" Glorfindel's voice was quiet, but worried. He stood behind his friend, holding a drained glass and a bottle of wine.

The adviser didn't look back at Glorfindel, standing in front of his chair and staring down at the surface of his desk. "What?"

"Are you...all right?" Glorfindel hesitated. "I mean - you didn't look well when she woke up. You left so quickly..."

"She screamed, Glorfindel," Erestor said, and Glorfindel could see the minuscule trembling of his hands. "It sounded too much like - it's too close to the same."

"Can I...?" Glorfindel queried softly, but Erestor shuddered a breath and dropped into his chair.

"No. Please, just...talk about something else. The silence is too loud, and I - I don't know what I would do if she had another nightmare. I don't want the children to see anything, or Elrond - they're hurting enough."

Glorfindel nodded, moving quietly to set the wine glass and bottle aside. "Then why don't we just talk about...the schedule for next week's patrol?" He could see the tired relief in Erestor's dark eyes as the adviser agreed with a dip of his head and pulled out a few papers from a drawer by his desk.
