"You're the only other one around here. Did you know that?"
Skrtch-skrtch.
"It's just you and me. But, before I got here, it must have just been you."
Skrtch-skrtch.
"You must have been lonely."
Skrtch-skrtch.
"…I hope that didn't sound mean. I've never spoken to anyone else besides you. Does it really count, if you don't talk back?"
Fst-fsseet-fsst.
"I'm sure you'd talk to me if you could, though. You're nice. People with darkness in their hearts…they don't sleep as peacefully, I don't think."
Shfft.
"I'm sure your voice is nice, too. Maybe not when you wake up…it'll be hoarse. But afterwards, it'll be nice again."
Skrtch-skrtch-skirtch.
"And I think you probably have very pretty eyes."
Silence.
She looked down at the drawing in her sketchbook. Messy golden pencil strokes went in every which direction, surrounded by hues of black, silver, and white. Tamer peach circles were hidden under the gold, and among them was a pair of white almond shapes, waiting eagerly for the day they could be filled in to complete the picture.
She smiled and peered up at the boy again, closing the sketchpad and standing. "I'm sure I'll get to see them some day. I'll come back later…you're probably tired of hearing me talk." Blue sandals quietly worked their way to the door, a barrier kept secure by the lock and key of this sleeping boy's memories. It quailed under her approach, clearing the path to the corridor beyond. The blonde stopped in the doorway and turned to pass on a lingering glance to her companion.
"Sleep well."
When she left, the door sealed tight behind her again.
A/N: just a tiny bit of an idea i had after finishing BBS. Ven's been asleep in Castle Oblivion since BBS ended, and Namine was born in Castle Oblivion. there was a period where the Organization didn't have reign over the castle yet, after Namine had been born, and considering her powers of memory over people connected to Sora. well. i'd wager she probably knew where the Chamber of Waking was. so, this thing.
also, those sounds are supposed to be pencil sounds, erasing sounds, and paper-moving sounds. i fail onomatopoeia. that is all.
