The Storm

We had just entered the town (Nabooru) and spoke to a few people when the thunder shook the heavens. The skies darkened and rain started dropping in a pattern around us. We opened our umbrellas and took off running toward the rafts; the rain dancing around us in a magnificent pulsation . Arriving at the rafts, John called Link and told him we were heading back. Link said that he was sending Tom and Chris back and he'd proceed alone to Darunia. John sighed, "Come on Link, you shouldn't go alone. You've always told us we need to be witha partner at all times." Link assured him he would be fine and told us all to take one raft and leave the other for him.

As Tom and Chris arrived, without hesitation and little talk, we boarded the raft. We each had an umbrella, but the winds were too persistent and caused the rain to sting. The waves crashed against the raft, throwing us from side to side. With his right arm Tom held up his umbrella and with the other, slid his arm around my shoulders. The wind hit hard once and ripped my umbrella from my hand, so I put my right arm around his back and my left arm around his waist. John was on my left, Byron was next to him and Chris sat between Byron and Tom.

John called Link to tell him about the problems we were experiencing and Link asked did we all have our umbrellas. John said, "No, Amanda's was thrown off by winds, but the rest of us have ours. It doesn't matter though, we're all soaked." Link said for us to move close together in the center of the raft to avoid being thrown off. A strong wave hit and knocked Byron and Chris forward onto us. Byron's umbrella went flying into the fierce storm and Chris landed on his right wrist. Sheer agony covered his face as he sat up. Lightning struck in the distance, illuminating the night. The reflection on the water was so bright I closed my eyes. John took off his shirt and tossed it to Chris, "Wrap this around your wrist to keep it from moving. It should help with the swelling."

Eventually, we made it to land and ran quickly as possible to the castle. The umbrellas had long since served their purpose, so they were put up. The sky behind the castle looked like something straight from a horror movie. The clouds were dark, a sure sign of evil. Looking upon it, one couldn't help but think of Gannon and his plan to overtake Hyrule. Once inside the castle we took care of the necessary tasks. Tom called Link and told him we were all safe minus the injury Chris had endured. We all changed into dry clothes and Chris wrapped his wrist in an ace bandage.
