With a quiet sniffle, he laid his head in the lap of the glowing Virgo who was now stroking his hair. Though Karkat and Kanaya weren't in a pale quadrant with one another, it was pretty close. Most of the other trolls that were still alive were starting to predict that their moirialegence would happen sooner or later. Nepeta would have drawn a picture on the shipping wall, most likely, if she were still around.
They would have all been still around if it wasn't for the rashness that the young mutant had carried about him during the game, and even before as well. There had been no real planning, no real thought process that had gone on in his thinkpan, just acting on instinct. That ignorant piece of the Cancer that thought he would prosper, their session would really succeed, was gone. But now that cockiness was replaced by self-hatred, more so than there already was. "I FAILED," he mumbled, trying not to cry as pale crimson tears began clustering in his pale grey oculars. "THEY ALL DIED BECAUSE OF MY FUCKING ARROGANCE. EVEN YOU, KANAYA, I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW YOU STILL TRUST ME AFTER ALL THAT. I'M JUST GONNA MESS UP AGAIN..." The tone that escaped from his lips was soft, shaky and strangled with tears, usually something his youthful voice wasn't.
Smiling softly, the jade blooded troll shook her head. "No You Did Not Karkat," she soothed, sounding very maternal as she leaned down and kissed the top of his head. "You Succeeded It Just Had To Happen That Way Dear."
"IF I HAD FUCKING SUCCEEDED THEY WOULDN'T BE DEAD!" he screamed, losing control of all of his emotions and starting to cry. Kanaya sighed softly, tingles of sadness laced in the exhale, as she opened up her arms, silently asking if he needed a hug, which Karkat gladly took. "THIS IS ALL MY FAULT." Ignoring his comment, the rainbow drinker gently began to shoosh pap the other shorter and angry troll by rubbing circles into his back as she had seen the humans do on a few occasions. Succumbing to all the terrible emotions that the young and crabby male had pushed back for what felt like sweeps, he buried his head into the Virgo's chest, crimson tears openly leaking down his grey skinned cheeks the wails sounding in perfect unison.
"Its Alright It Will All Be Okay Karkat," uttered the young troll, placing her chin on the top of the other's head, right in between his nubby, candy-corn like horns. "It Is Not Your Fault Nor Will It Ever Be."
For a while, the young Vantas continued to cry, uttering whatever he could choke out, and all the Maryam did was listen, making a few small noises to allow the latter that she was still remaining attentive between the shoosh paps. "KANAYA?" he mumbled, peering up at the jade blood with teary eyes.
"Yes" she asked, giving a small smile of reassurance.
"PALE FOR YOU."
"Pale For You Too Karkat"
