Post It Notes
By that belle
Author's Note: This was originally a drabble I did for xdawnfirex on livejournal. I decided to post it here with my other works. And here is the criteria:
Fandom: NCIS
Pairing/s: Gibbs/Kate
A quote that HAS to be used: "That is not an approved use for sticky notes."
When Gibbs walked into the bullpen that morning, he was not surprised to find that he was the first person there. What did surprise him, however, was the bright yellow 'stick-it' note that was attached to his computer screen.
If things weren't weird enough having that there, when he examined it closer he found a mouth shaped mark on it. In lipstick.
As the NCIS building consisted mostly men, he thought that there weren't a lot of people who would randomly place a sticky note on his screen with a lipstick mark.
He shrugged it off, remembering the SWAK scare not that long ago, and threw the piece of paper into the trash.
There were few times in Kate's life that she could recall being so impulsive. Like the wet t-shirt contest, for a start. Now she was leaving sticky notes with her lipstick on Gibbs' screen?
It had been very challenging, sneaking into the building at 6am – Gibbs arrived at 6:15am daily. She couldn't remember how she had learned of that interesting fact, but for the past few weeks or so she had taken up the somewhat insane art of trying to learn everything she could about her boss.
Kate sighed. She had been in love with Jethro Gibbs for longer than she even knew. It had just been there, and she had only come to realise it when that other woman came into his life.
"You could have chosen a better place to hide than behind your desk, Kate."
She almost screamed when she saw Gibbs standing over her. But she just shook her head and smirked. "What gave me away?"
"I heard you sigh." He replied, holding out his hand to her. She took it, and felt herself being lifted off the ground. "You know, Kate…"
"What?" She breathed, liking the way he looked into her eyes. Liking it very much.
"That is not an approved use for sticky notes."
Kate laughed, and he placed an arm around her waist. "I don't like to do things the 'approved' way." She said, before taking the chance she had wanted to take for a long time. She kissed him.
