Based off a concept by @huggngkitherondale Kit has a beautiful singing voice

When Ty had his headphones on, he absorb himself into the world of classical music and whatever task he was doing, meaning that he didn't notice what was going on in the world around him. Kit had gotten used to this, so had be careful when he wanted to get Ty's attention, as to not startle and overwhelm him. On one particular occasion, Jules had sent Kit to help Ty to do some research in the library, and Kit knew he would need to get Ty's attention to ensure that he didn't look at the same things Ty had, and waste time. Kit sat in front of Ty, and coughed slightly. Although Ty would have his headphones on, he would never have the music on too loud, meaning he heard Kit cough. On seeing Kit sitting opposite him, Ty paused his music and removed his headphones, as he didn't want to miss anything Kit said.

"Jules sent me to help research" Kit said by way of an explanation. Ty nodded, and slid a book across the table. "I think Chapter 5 covers water demons with tentacles" he said, and made a move to return his headphones to his ears when something occurred to him. He and Kit had spent a lot of time discussing, and on a few rare occasions listening to, what music Ty liked, but Ty had no idea what music Kit liked. As Ty didn't like having an unanswered question, he looked back at Kit and asked "what sort of music do you like?" Which caused Kit to look a bit taken aback. "Pardon" was all Kit could manage. Ty repeated the question and after a pause, Kit shrugged. "I listen to whatever. If I like a song, I'll listen to it" he said.

Ty then followed up with "what's your favorite song?" As he wanted to get to know Kit a bit better. Without having to think this time, Kit replied with "Mr Brightside by The Killers". Ty felt a little awkward then, as all the music he listened to was classical, he recognised neither song nor band. "I can't say I know that one" he admitted embarrassed. Kit then patted his pockets, and pulled a face of annoyance. "I don't have my phone on me, if I did, I'd play it for you" he said. Ty wasn't entirely sure what made him say it, but he did "sing it". Much to Ty's surprise, Kit did. Having never heard Kit sing before, Ty was taken aback by just how good he was, and when the song was over, he gave Kit a small round of applause.

From then on, Ty encouraged Kit to sing more often, sometimes when they were alone, sometimes when they were with other people. It wasn't just Ty who thought Kit was a good singer, everyone who heard him agreed. Kit took it all in his stride, saying it was a shame he was a Shadowhunter otherwise he probably would have had a successful career as a singer. But Kit didn't just sing to entertain, he often found himself singing softly to Ty when he needed grounding. Livvy often found Kit sitting next to Ty with his arms round him and singing, something she would film and send to the others accompanied with a lot of exclamation marks. Kit was just happy to finally have a skill that was his own that he fully enjoyed.
