In the VS2 Moonlight world, Mick and Beth have yet to seal the deal. This is my version of what happened after the door closed. (Misfit)

This short takes place before virtual episode 1.

"You're staring again." Mick opened his eyes to Beth's smile. "Was I snoring?"

"No." Beth moved her hand in slow circles on his chest, threading her fingers through the soft hair. "I was just …thinking." Patches of moonlight shifted in the room, touching her face and lighting her china blue eyes. "I was thinking that I shouldn't have closed the door."

"It didn't stay closed." Mick lifted her hand, kissing her fingertips. "I couldn't let it."

"And here we are." Beth brushed her lips against his. "I still can't quite believe it."

Mick's arms wrapped slowly around her and he kissed her gently. "This is what my dreams are made of, Beth. You… me… together." His lips covered hers, cool and seeking and she was lost in his passion. Beth wrapped herself around him, thrilling at the touch of his tongue on hers, his hands soothing and coaxing her closer. His chest was wide and warm, and she moved softly against him, sensation long denied urging her on as she stroked his cheeks with trembling fingers. "If I'm dreaming, please don't wake me."

Mick smiled against her lips. "We'll have to wake up sometime."

"I know." Beth fell back on her pillow, turning her head to watch his face in the shifting shadows. "I don't want to think about tomorrow. I want to wake up here, in your arms, in the morning."

"I want that, too." Mick rolled to an elbow, looking down on her with cautious longing as he touched the soft skin just below her camisole. "I can stay until morning."

Beth raised her hand to his cheek, drawing his lips closer. "And are we going to…" Mick kissed the question away, his hand gently stroking her stomach. Beth's fingers tightened in his hair and she moaned softly as the kiss deepened, stealing her very breath.

The kiss lasted a moment, forever and their lips parted with a heart-expanding gasp. Mick lay back, drawing her with him; her head snug to his shoulder, his arms holding her tightly. He took a deep breath as her hand slipped past his navel, brushing near his belt and he covered it with his own. "We don't have to make love tonight, Beth." He moved his head until he could see her face. "We don't need to rush into it."

"You… don't want me?" Beth whispered in disbelief, her eyes dimming with rejection.

Mick lifted her chin with careful fingers, feeling her anguish. He kissed her softly again. "Of course, I want you. I think I want you in too many ways for us to go any further tonight." He pressed his forehead to hers. "I want to keep the magic of right now for as long as I can. Okay?"

Beth's eyes searched his face and she took her own deep breath. "Okay. Will you still stay with me? Hold me until morning?"

Mick pressed her cheek to his chest and closed his eyes. "God himself couldn't move me right now." He kissed the top of her head as he felt her smile against his chest. "I love you."
