Frantically, desperately.

"Where…where did I put it down? I c-can't find it anywhere!" Alfred's voice cracks, sounds of things breaking and being thrown are heard echoing throughout the house, causing poor Lithuania to jump a few times. Though the smaller country wouldn't set foot near the closed door.

Not after…

"Damnit," Tears were forming in the corners of his normally vibrant blue eyes. "The only thing I have left that England gave me.. The letter he told me only to read if something happened. I can't find it anywhere.."

Most of the countries had slowly faded, not so much faded, more like rotted away.

When it comes to a zombie infestation, normally it takes a bite to turn one human into a zombie. For the case with these personified countries, as their population started to turn and their cities began to fall, each country started to fall apart.

So of course, the countries with the smaller populations (Italy, and the United Kingdom) were the first to have their population swallowed by this disease. In result: Romano, Italy and England were the first three to 'die'. France followed very quickly.

The only reason why Lithuania was safe at the moment, was because of how large Russia and America both were and that they both (though Russia wouldn't admit to it) were attempting to keep him safe.

Suddenly the door slams open (once more causing the smaller country to jump and nearly drop the plate he was carrying) and America is standing there, hair disheveled, glasses askew and his eyes red with tears running down his face. "Lithuania. Have..you seen me ever take an old envelope out of here and put it somewhere else?"

"A-Ah. I do not believe so.." The country let his head hang for a moment, closing his eyes tightly in an attempt to block out the disheartened face that America was making.

Silence ensued.

"W-Wait! Didn't you have me move it to your room? B-Because you left it out when England came over and you didn't want him to see that you still had it?"

When Lithuania looked back up, America was already gone.

And the door to his room had been slammed shut.

Alfred,

It's weird writing you a letter like this, because it does seem like I am foreshadowing my own death. Isn't that an amusing thought?

Enough with the small chit chat, I'm going to cut right to the point of this letter.

When I first found you, I couldn't have been more happy to have found such a cute younger brother. Even though I did not visit as much as either of us had liked, I did enjoy the time I was around to see you slowly starting to grow up.

Then when you decided to gain your independence, I can honestly say that I was hurt. I couldn't believe that yo- (the paper is pretty worn out here, either from drops of water or someone trying to erase and rewrite the sentence a few times…or both)

Now that we're older –there I go, speaking in the future tense again- and things have changed, I've probably stayed the same. (Remember, this letter was written years ago but not so long ago that America was a child).

So, this letter now…is to tell you that even though I'm gone, and of course things will change, but I want you to know something.

I've never hated you. Not even for turning against me and leaving. No matter what you do, I'll support you because I know you're going to go far.

And Alfred-

It was the last three words that caused this hero to break down.

"Me too…Arthur.."

I love you.
