Bella's red truck quickly came to a stop in front of the little red house. Her heart thumped out of her chest as she thought about Jacob. She watched him get attacked and watched as his body was broken. His beautiful body was full of pain. So much pain. Physical and emotional. She quickly hopped out the truck and approached the group of concerned pack members outside Jacob's house. Billy black looked up at her to speak but didn't get a chance to because of Jacob's blood curling, pain filled scream sounded through the air. Billy grasped Emily's hand who was standing behind him.

Bella sucked it in a breath.

"its been going on for a while. The doctor vamp had to rebreak his bones." Jared quietly told her.

Another blood-curdling scream was heard before a dead quiet hit. A few minutes later Carlise with Sam behind him came out.

Carlisle stopped in front of Billy. "The morphine burns off too quickly, so I have had to give him an i.v. I put enough morphine bags to last three weeks. That's how long it should take him to heal properly."

"Thank you," Billy said sincerely as he put his hand out for Carlisle to shake. Carlisle shook it and looked up at Bella. "He's asking for you."

With that said, Carlisle swiftly went to his car and pulled away. Bella quickly turned to go inside. however, her path was blocked by sam. His face was unreadable.

"I think you should go home, Bella. Jacob needs to heal, and you have caused him more than enough pain."

No one spoke. No one corrected Sam or fought for her to see Jacob.

"let her in sam." She heard Jacob moan. Sam did not budge. He looked down at Bella.

Sam Uley had had enough. This was the straw that broke the camel's back. He would not stand back and let his pack member continue to hurt himself and he wouldn't watch Bella do the same. She made her choice, it was time for her and Jacob both to face that.

"go home Bella, please don't make this harder than what it needs to be."

Bella looked up at Sam. "..Ill leave. Just have him call me when the time is right."

Sam nodded. "when the time is right."

With nothing else to say, Bella got back in her truck and left.

The road in front of her was not the road home. She was driving aimlessly. She didn't know where to go or who to turn her. Well, maybe she did but she didn't want to face them. Before she knew it, she was where she didn't want to be. Once her Truck was parked, gravity fell, and the turmoil of the past two months collapsed unto her shoulders. She let out a sob she had been holding in ever since the battlefield.

How could it have all come down to this? Finally making a choice but making the wrong one. Being selfish and inconsiderate and falling into a deep depression that had lasted for months. How could she have let one person become her whole world? How had she become so obsessed that She pushed away from the ones that truly cared for her and when she finally had a revelation it was too late.

A knock on her window caused Bella to jump. It was Doug.

Doug Martinez was taking out the trash when he noticed a familiar truck sitting in the empty parking lot. He walked up to the window and was surprised. It was Bella.

Knocking on her window he spoke "Chica? What are you doing here? And especially this time of night?"

She quickly wiped her eyes. "oh! Doug! I'm sorry. i. I didn't know where else to go. Um, I can leave?"

"What? no! you know you are always welcome here even after hours. Come on inside. I can't have my favorite apprentice out here in the dark crying. Besides Alma would kill me if she knew you were here, and I hadn't invited you in." he said as he helped her out the truck.

Doug had met Bella when she happened to come into his restaurant and bar one day. She had been severely depressed and looking for a job. However, Doug wasn't looking for a waitress he was looking for a sous chef. Without batting an eyelid, Doug turned the girl down, but she had a fire in her. She asked Doug if she could cook him something and if he liked it, he would hire her and if not fine.

Well, she surely proved him wrong. She had cooked some excellent French meal and won Doug over immediately. He decided to take her under his wing as his apprentice. She had good potential. Ever since she came along his restaurant and bar has become the most popular in Port Angeles.

"Hey, alma! Look who it is?" he called up to his wife. She was at the bar cleaning out some glasses.

"Oh Bella! My darling. I am so happy to see you! What are you doing here?" Alma asked. The girl she'd come to know and love as a daughter was looking pale, tired and scared.

They sat Bella down at the bar and handed her a mountain dew. Doug lit his cigar as he waited for her to speak.

"…Everything I once knew. It's all been a lie, hasn't it? What everyone has been trying to tell me. What Jacob tried to tell me. I- I just keep hurting people."

Bella broke into a sob. Alma instantly went around the bar to comfort the girl.

"Oh, sweetheart. Ok, tell us from the beginning. What happened?"

Bella wiped her face and started from the beginning.

" 3 months ago. Edward, my ex-boyfriend. He came back home. Of course, I instantly accepted him back. He and his family. They threw me a graduation party, one I didn't want of course. And then-then he proposed to me. I said yes. I don't know why I just did. I figured it would make him happy and then I would get to stay with him forever. But deep down, I really didn't want to. Not yet anyway. And then theirs Jacob. He was there for me for the past months while Edward was gone. When Edward returned, he didn't want me to hang out with Jacob, but of course, I would sneak off to see Jacob and his friends anyway. But today, Jacob, he got into a horrible accident. I was there. I watched him. He was in so much pain. And then when I went to visit him, his brother turned me away. He told me I cause Jacob to much pain and he's right. He is so right. All I've done is caused him pain and so many others. He helped when I needed someone the most, but I couldn't give him what he wanted in return. It took his accident to have me realize that I truly love him. I love him and Edward but with Jacob, It's just so different, so easy. There's room to breathe"

"So what's the problem honey?" Doug asked. He needed to understand why she was in so much turmoil.

"I'm pregnant and it's Jacob's."
