Not Even a Memory

Disclaimer: I do not own Kingdom Hearts

High up on a clock tower sits a girl cloaked in black. She sits alone and never moves or speaks, just lets the wind sway her short, black hair. She smiles sadly out at the sleepy town below her and the setting sun before her. Behind her blue eyes lies a world of endless thought. She thinks about all she's done, and then all she knows she should have done. She thinks about that weapon that she had so unceremoniously received in another life, the one she was created by them to use. And more than anything else, she thinks about the boy that she called friend.

Roxas.

Slowly, almost subtly at first, she begins to fade.

I know this isn't what you wanted, but I did what needed to be done. You'll see.

And as she's disappearing, she prays a silent prayer.

I'll miss you, both of you. You and Axel were- are- my best friends, and you'll stay in my heart forever, even if I'm not around to tell you so. Just know that.

Before the last of her figure vanishes, her smile evolves into something more confident.

I may not even be a memory now, but that's okay.

Because you are.
