Another exploration into her motivations. This is a spoiler for episode 3.04 Do Shapeshifters Dream of Electric Sheep?

The character is not mine. But let us see what she is made of.

Two Steps Ahead

Only you know what the Secretary wants. How far are you willing to go to get it for him?

You listen to his every word at the Restaurant.

"Each party has something the other party wants. She gets security. He gets her."

"We all draw our moral lines in the sand."

"You could always tell when a relationship is about to take that next step."

What? Gawd! Is that what all you men can think about? Damn you Peter Bishop.

You almost enjoyed yourself too much tonight. You know you shouldn't have had that glass of white wine. You don't know your own limit. It's making your nerves show.

You don't want to think about him that way, you haven't considered it up until now, but you are beginning to feel his pull. What happened to your emotional detachment?

Whew! That was close.

Your cover was almost blown today. No thanks to Newton's overconfidence.

He's partly right about you.

"You are not fully committed to the task..."

"You are trying to convince yourself that you don't care, but you do care."

You do care. You care about doing the right thing.

"Your emotions betray you."

"Words like integrity and self-respect...form a line that you are unwilling to cross and that will lead to your undoing."

Yeah. What about words like loyalty and devotion? You don't have to remind me about my mission.

"But I suppose that's not my problem anymore."

Well. You got that right. Look what you are making me do. You saw this coming didn't you?

How dare you talk to me about human emotions?

Who the hell he thinks he is? He's not even human. He is an insensitive, cold-hearted foot soldier who kills without blinking.

Without Newton's support, you need to step up your game. There are no limits except those we impose upon ourselves. It's time to cross that moral line. Failure is not an option. You need to win. You need to be two steps ahead of the situation.

"The change is good. But it's different."

Peter Bishop thinks he knows his Olivia. Well he doesn't know you. You may not be his Olivia now, but after tonight you will be.

It's show time.
