Weasley's Wizarding Wheezes

They were the infamous Weasley Twins, the best pranksters of their generation and the best pranksters since the Marauders had been students in Hogwarts.

They were well known and admired by many of the students at Hogwarts ever since they had used their pranking skills to get back at the pink toad that had been sent to torment the students by their Ministry of Magic but they were their parent's children. They wished that they could make their parents proud of them. It may seem silly but to a child no matter how old they were, one of the most important things was to have your parents proud of you. That feeling was simply extraordinary, something that they would bottle up and sell if it was possible.

They had known from the very start that if they wanted their parents to be proud of them for who they were and for their strongest aspects that they could not follow the academic path as Bill, Charlie and Percy had before them. They were fairly good at that but mindless following of instructions written and created by some witch or wizard who was probably as old as dust was not one of their strong points.

They were the ones who wanted to experiment, create new rules. They had known that in the beginning they would face the disappointment of their mother. Their father would not mind as long as they were happy, he was following his own fascination of muggle products in his job anyway.

It had been horrible. Their mother had made sure to let them know of her disappointment at dropping out of Hogwarts every time they had arrived at the Burrow.

They had not told her of the money Harry had given them after the Triwizard Tournament ended. The money he had received for winning that tournament. They had been suitably surprised with the capital Harry had given them to continue with their development of jokes and pranks and future opening of a shop that they had not even realized yet. How he knew that they would need it, they did not know but were immensely grateful for it.

They had opened their first shop in Diagon Alley only a few days ago. It had been a blast and had quickly become one of the most visited shops in Diagon Alley.

They had invited their parents to see the shop and despite the congratulations and praise they had received from their friends they waited nervously for their parent's opinions. They had promised to come today.

Fred and George could not prevent themselves from looking at the clock every few minutes. Their anxiety was obvious to most people.

The bell chimed over the din within the shop indicating that someone was entering the shop. Fred and George glanced up then stilled before shooting each other anxious glances. They covered their expressions neatly as their parents looked around.

They walked towards the figures of their plump mother and lanky father, their gait and expression cheerful like it always was but they both knew that their parent's reactions could very well make or break their new business.

They stood in front of their parents waiting for the verdict. Two pairs of eyes landed on the twins, examining them with an unhidden look of pride.

"Well done, you two. I always knew you had it in you," their mother said tearfully.

Gred and Forge grinned widely.

"Yes mother, yet you always threw our experimental pranks away," they chorused brightly.

Their chance had paid off. Their parents were proud of them for something that was not academic.

Maybe, just maybe, they could be converted yet.
