"And you come to me on a summer breeze" -- BeeGees, "How Deep Is Your Love?"

"D'you reckon Harry's okay, Ron?" Fred asked.

"I don't know -- he hasn't answered my owls all summer," Ron replied. He'd been wondering much the same thing.

"Those Muggles probably have him locked in his room," George said, "And they're not feeding him, and only letting him out to use the toilet."

"Well, we could --" Fred said.

"Go and get him, I suppose," George added.

"Dad's got that car," Fred mused.

"You're not supposed to know about that!" Ron said indignantly, forgetting momentarily that he wasn't supposed to know about it, either.

"And how does ickle Ronniekins know about it, then?" George said with a grin.

"Erm..." Ron stammered.

"Never mind," said Fred cheerfully. "No matter."

"We can go tonight -- if we're quiet Mum will never know," George said.

And so, that was how three red-headed boys and one old turquoise Ford Anglia came to be winging their way toward Surrey on a warm midsummer night.

That was how Harry Potter was rescued from the Dursleys' clutches -- that time, at least.

That was how Ron Weasley became Harry Potter's knight in shining armor -- or rather, his knight in a flying Ford Anglia.

That was not then, and would not be later, the only time Ron Weasley saved Harry Potter.

It was, however, the night that, although they didn't realize it then, Harry Potter and Ron Weasley began to fall in love with each other.

And when their feelings were finally revealed to each other, Ron got to thank Harry for saving him for once.

Harry smiled, his hair still damp with lake-water, and picked a bit of seaweed from Ron's hair, before leaning up to kiss him.

"You've saved me so many times, Ron. Finally I get to save you."
