A/N: Ok so this is just a random little one-shot written at 2 in the morning about why Maureen chose Joanne, out of all people.
From the moment that they met, Maureen felt drawn to Joanne.
A special kind of connection, one that she had never felt with anyone else, not even her current boyfriend, Mark.
That odd attraction was what compelled the diva to invite Joanne to lunch that day.
That pull was what made her and Joanne become the best of friends. It was what made her dump Mark and ask out the lawyer.
But the two women's personality's were so far apart from each other, how did it ever work?
Joanne was shy, calm, and collected.
Maureen was outgoing, hyper-active, and spastic.
Joanne has gone to Harvard, had a well paying and fairly prestigious job, and was extremely logical.
Maureen, on the other hand, had dropped out of school, scraped money together just to eat, and was creative.
So what made Maureen so in love with Joanne?
Maybe it was the fact that she was always up for a fight. Well, not a fight, exactly. More of a debate on morals or world issues.
Those deep conversations that really make you think, and feel like you've accomplished something just for discussing it.
Maybe it was Joanne's determination. Not taking "No" for an answer. Fighting for her clients, even if she thought that they didn't deserve a second chance, just so that they could have a better life.
Or it could be her patience. Joanne never got annoyed if you didn't understand something right away. She would just keep re-explaining herself until you got it.
How she didn't mind staying up half the night to go over a script for an audition, or rehearsing and reviewing plans for the latest protest.
Or, as shallow as it sounds, her sex appeal. The way her nose is turned up just the tiniest bit. Or how her curly dark brown hair looks when it's pulled back from her face with a sparkly barrette.
And how she could look perfect in anything, weather it was a tie and suspenders, or a black cocktail dress.
How she's always there for you, no matter what.
The list goes on and on…
Or maybe, simply, opposites attract.
A/N: Yeah, random. Deal. Sorry if that sucked and / or made no sense. You know what to do now.
