From that point on, she's Beth.
She knows it'll make it harder – her mother always said that. Never name anything you can't hold onto, because it makes letting go that much harder. Quinn is pretty sure she meant it in regard to stray animals. Beth is different.
To be honest, she's not really sure that naming her is going to make that much of a difference. Not to her, anyway. She's been inside of her for nine months, growing, forming, bonding... Quinn has put Malteasers on her stomach and waited for her little bump to kick them away. She's cried over her – many nights. She's protected her from everything, even herself.
Puck's little sister named her. Bop, she calls her. Baby of Puckerman. Quinn didn't mind that one, considering she knew it wasn't a real name, a name anyone gives their child.
But Puck loves 'Beth', and she admits whole heartedly that she loves it, too. It feels right. Naming her is going to hurt Puck more than it hurts her. He hasn't had the small life growing inside him. Giving her a name is going to give him a bond to the little girl that he never had. He's only hurting himself, but she lets him do it. Maybe he needs it. But they love her name.
Her mother always told her not to name things she couldn't hold onto, but honestly, how much harm could a name cause anyway? She already loves her more than words can say.
