Once upon a time in a land far away, there lived a frog.

Now this frog was very beautiful, so beautiful that her father, the most important frog in the land, had to keep her locked away in a tower. Now as it happened, one day a prince was riding by on his donkey, when suddenly he heard a voice singing. This was the frog, who loved to sing and had a beautiful voice. The prince loved the frog's voice and looked up to see where she was. Finally he spotted the tower with one small window right at the top. He'd read the stories. He knew what to do.

"Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair!" he cried out.

"Um, I don't have any hair," the frog replied. "And anyway my name's not Rapunzel."

The prince was not deterred. He would win this fair frog's heart! "Right," he said, thinking quickly. "Is there another way I could get up?"

The frog considered. "You could try using the stairs."

The prince gripped his sword tightly and set off for the door to the tower. "Fear not, fair maiden!" he cried. "I will save thee!"

The frog grimaced. "O-k! What is he on?" But she was content to sit and wait for her supposedly true love.

After a long time, the prince finally reached the top. When he saw the frog he decided that she was the most beautiful frog he had ever seen and he fell in love with her at once. The frog looked up.

"Well," she said, cocking her head.

The prince leaned against the wall, panting. "Hang on a sec," he gasped, taking out his inhaler. "I'm asthmatic, you know."

The frog waited patiently whilst the prince took two puffs. Once his breathing had settled down she looked at him expectantly. The prince grimaced as he caught her meaning.

"Isn't that unhygienic?" he asked.

"Just do it," replied the frog irritably.

Gingerly, the prince leaned over and kissed the frog gently, but briefly, on the forehead. When it was done he stood up and wiped his mouth with the back of his hand.

"It isn't easy for me either," complained the frog. She closed her eyes and waited a few moments, then reopened them. "Um, nothing's happened. Haven't we gone wrong somewhere?"

"Oh bother!" the prince grumbled.

The frog smiled suddenly. "Never mind!" she said cheerfully. "It was an experience. Nice meeting you anyway."

The prince headed for the stairs, then stopped. "Isn't there a quicker way?"

The frog nodded towards the window. "Well, you could always jump..."
