Here is my shot at a little James/Lily fanfic. I have been looking for the perfect one for a while and not finding one. I realized that if I wanted a perfect, according to me, I would have to write it myself. Give it a shot, you will probably like it. It's not that complicated. Just be aware of that I won't be updating too often. I have two chapters in stock now, so there will be at least two chapters in the story./Emilie
Lily sighed as she plunked down onto the round cushion. The scent of incense was making her throat hurt more than it was already doing. She coughed to rid of the tickly feeling at the back of her mouth. When she woke up that morning she discovered that she had kicked off her blankets and her whole body was as icy cold as the room. Heating up a large castle like Hogwarts is pretty much impossible.
It was autumn again and classes had been going on for precisely two months. It was abnormally cold for November and all the students of Hogwarts kept inside when possible. Just thinking of Care of Magical Creatures class or Herbology class could make a poor, little student shiver.
Lily had actually had a quite enjoyable summer. Her parents were a bit closed up but they spoke to her on a regular basis about things not concerning her school and her other world of course. She had met up with Hannah and Bridget twice in Diagon Alley and once they had gone swimming. When they weren't together they kept in touch by owls. Lily's parents had been reluctant to let the owl into the house, but agreed after a few hours of begging from Lily's side saying that it will not be in any other rooms than Lily's own. Her parents had nothing against animals; if they were outside. The inside of the house was in the same untouched style as a museum. She had gone on long walks in the area around her house trying to remember pleasant things from her childhood. Which she succeeded with only a tad bit.
She was brought back to stuffy room in a wing of Hogwarts when someone sat down next to her. She was a bit surprised when she was met by a bright smile from no other than the famous James Potter. She smiled back, not being sure what else to do.
"You don't mind if I sit here do you? I was thinking maybe for one lesson I'd try to actually learn whatever it is she wants us to learn," he said in a quiet but lively voice.
"Oh... Right, but you should know that I don't learn anything either. I pretty good at making stuff up too. So basically I won't be about to teach you anything. I am just here because if I would have taken Muggle Studies the teacher would eventually have to kill me for correcting him or her all the time."
"Aha. You are a smart girl. I knew that there wasn't anyone in this class that really learned anything. Well, I'll just sit here for company then. I hope you aren't offended for me sitting here only to use you!"
Lily laughed at his description of his intentions.
"When you put it like that, I am actually a bit hurt, but you made me laugh for the first time today, so I'll just let it slip."
"Oh, great. Sorry 'bout that."
She nodded at him with a slight smile.
"Evans and Potter, if you two are finished I shall start telling you about the great secrets hidden in the movements of the stars," the Divination teacher sighed a bit tiredly at them.
