It was the end of a long day for Ranma. Kuno, Ryoga, and Mouse had all tried to kill him… again; and Akane, Xianpu, Kodachi, and Ukyo had all tried to (once more) get him to confess (or to prevent such a confession all together in the case of Akane) his love to her. This made for a lot of fights, explosions, supposedly humorous chase scenes and other such shenanigans. But in the end it really added up to just one thing: a tired Ranma sitting on the couch next to Kasumi while she watched one of her shows.

In all actuality she was watching him out of the corner of her eye, but Ranma didn't really notice at the moment. Or was simply too tired to care. One of the two choices.

This went on for a while until such a time as kasumi decided to speak. "Ranma, I really don't understand, why have you not picked a girl yet?"

To this Ranma looked over at her and replied "I already have, I even tell people everyday which of the girls I have picked but no one pays attention to it."

"Oh? Who then?" mused Kasumi.

"Well to be honest," started Ranma, "it's not who I do want so much as who I don't want."

Kasumi found at this, thought for a moment before asking him to explain what the hell he was talking about (though it was phrased more like "what do you mean, Ranma?).

"Well for starters, I have no desire to marry a girl who is only after me because her tribal laws tell her to."

Kasumi smiled at this "well that means she is out of the running."

"And I also don't want a girl who is willing to poison me in order to kiss me."

Kasumi thought that Kodachi, given the chance, would do more than just kiss Ranma, but only said: "well, that's two down."

"I also don't want a girl who only wants me because she was scammed out of a dowry by my father."

Kasumi was a bout to say, with a rather large smile on her face "that only leaves Akane!" When Ranma followed up with "And I have no desire, Absolutely none whatsoever, for a girl that no matter what I do nor what I say, absolutely refuses to trust me, even after I risk my life fighting a self proclaimed god (who almost had enough power to back the claim) to save her life and bring her home."

Kasumi had one of those quirky, I – really – don't – know – how – to – respond – to – that smiles on with a dash of irritation and disappointment thrown in at this, so she asked him "well if you do not want to marry one of them then may I ask who then?"

Ranma looked at the ceiling and answered "I honestly don't know, but I don't believe I will find her here in Nerima."

The next morning, Ranma had left. No one ever saw him again and not even the Amazons could track him down. The only trace of him they could find was a note that said: don't look for me, you will not succeed. And even if you did find me, I wouldn't go back. Unless you killed me and dragged back my corpse.
