Prologue

Author Note: I'm not sure what the process of a confession is, but this is my best

A tall and well dressed man walked into the church, running his hand through his dark hair. He was known as a womanizer, he was guilty in so much he was ignorant to. He waited for the confessional booth to be free as he held his hands together with his leg jiggling in place, he was an impatient man.

After some time passed, he entered the booth and opened his mouth to speak when a sob tore through his chest. "My son, what has you so broken down before you can confess," the elderly priest gently inquired. "I was violent with my daughter last night after I drank too much, she was pregnant and needed to be at the hospital as she miscarried the baby because of me. She landed on her stomach hard, the doctor said I can't go back there and I came here after I heard that she doesn't want anything to do with me."

The elderly man was shocked to hear this of the man, the priest had heard confessions from his late wife before she died that she couldn't inspire him while other women could. Even during the honeymoon. The heartbreak started with the wife and had passed down to the youngest daughter it seemed. The priest crossed himself before he spoke in a solemn voice, "May Gabriel help you past the darkness."

The middle-aged man was sad to hear that he could not be saved, but there weren't many options left for him since he damned himself. He walked from the booth and the church to his car, the wind blowing strong and violent against his dark grey jacket lapels as he got in his car and drove off to his fate.

The priest was still haunted by what he heard from the man. The girl that was spoken of during confession had come in while she was around 5 months pregnant, inquiring sanctuary for the baby after it was born. It never was born and it should have been born some time this month. He mumbled something under his breath before he ambled off to the holy water.
