I got inspiration to write this story from a poem I read. Shocker huh? I actually expected that a jamesXseverus or luciusXseverus story would give me inspiration. Anyways enjoy.
disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter, or the characters. I wish I owned Snape though. (Cries in a corner holding a Severus picture I printed off of Google.)

Severus Snape POV
Definition of vulnerable- open to assault; difficult to defend. I write down, finishing my poem. This one word is a lot like me. James Potter and his gang won't leave me alone so I'm open to assault, and Lily won't help me so I'm difficult to defend; hell even the slytherins won't help me when I'm bullied by the gryffindors, and they're supposed to be our rivals. "Miss us Snivellus?" I hear a mocking voice I have come to hate; James Potter. "Leave me alone." I say weakly. "Snivellus wants us to leave him alone or he'll snivel." Sirius jokes laughing at his stupid joke. Isn't there anyone else to bother besides me? Why can't they just leave me alone to study, write, read, or even think for a day? "What are you writing in that book Snivellus?" Sirius asks snatching the book from me. When did he even get that close? "Give it back!" I shout trying to snatch it from him but he throw it to James. I run over to him but he throws it back to Sirius. "Guys we're gonna get in trouble if this keeps up." Remus says. "Don't be a stick in the mud moony, we're just having fun." James says. 'Fun to you.' I so badly want to say, but knew to keep my mouth shut. It turned into some game that was amusing to James, Sirius, and Peter, but humiliating to me.
"Give him me the book James." a voice says. I turn around to see Dumbledore walking to us. He takes the book from them and looks in it to see that it's mine. "Your actions have disappointed me yet again James." He says looking disappointed at them. "That's 10 points from gryffindor." Dumbledore says. I look hopeful for a second, even though I know not to. "You did save Severus from Remus a few months ago, so I guess 15 points would be enough for you." Dumbledore says. That is why I know not to hope. He always lets his favorite student off the hook. He either awards them or gives them a slap on the wrist, while I have to go through their torture. "Here's your journal back Severus, boys follow me." Dumbledore says than turns to leave while the marauders follow him. I read my finished poem.
Vulnerable By: Severus Snape
Everyone is vulnerable but you hope it's never you,
but people constantly spill out words so true,
and you wonder why it can't be anyone else in your place,
so you can be the one laughing in someone's face,
but this world is harsh and people are mean,
and when you look at popular people you go envy green,
wondering how you come that's not you,
how come you can't hang with the cool crew,
and people start to say that something's wrong with you,
then you sink lower believing them true,
and you look at that beautiful butterfly,
flying around in the sky,
wondering how it got to be beautiful and free,
thinking 'why can't that be me.'
