The Team

Rizzoli & Isles novel (Tess Gerritsen) , Janet Tamero & Jan Nash (TNT Showrunners)

[Jane R., Maura I.] (OC) 'SPOILER ALERT, POSSIBLY'...[One-Shot]

Summary note: This idea came to me a year after the death of Lee Thompson Young(Det. B. Frost). Hopefully this one-shot explains my point of view in the

transition of a new Partner.

After leaving Korsak's home, where everyone(the team) was sitting, drinking, and talking while playing with the puppies about what had happened earlier,

it just never ocurred to them, eight months later that they would lose one of their own. Sure with the career that they've chosen, they knew that anytime they wouldn't possibly come home tonight but that didn't stop them from solving crimes, catching the bad guys, and bring the victims' family closure. Yet here they were, at Barold Frost's memorial service after a week ago of hearing of his fatal car accident. Jane, Korsak, Maura, Frankie, Cavanaugh, Angela, Camille, Adm. Frost, and a host of BPD, family, and friends. All with memories going through their minds, sweet moments that they've reflected of their son, friend, brother, partner, and colleague. As the team try to cope still looking at the empty desk with the action-figure on top of it, Jane and the team must go on...they know he would have wanted them too. As time progresses, Jane, Korsak, Frankie, and Maura continues solving murder cases, Jane risking herself to save innocents, meeting a newbie that so happens to be technical with computers, and still enjoy being at Maura's house.

Its now been over a year and Korsak approaches Jane on asssigning her a new partner. Jane is hesistant but finally admit its time so with that Cavanaugh introduces the team to Nina Holiday, the new crime analyst. For now, she will work in the BRIC room until Korsak knows that Nina is ready for the field again and partnering up with Jane. Everyone likes her, Jane talks to Maura about Nina because she feels guilty some sort of way, like she's betraying Frost or something. Maura assures Jane that Det. Frost would approve and wouldn't hold it against her. Nina also feels guilty if not, disrespectful of being Jane's partner. Maura reassures her as well that she is no way should feel guilty nor ever disrespecting the memory of Det. Frost. She tells Nina that were always be special in Jane's heart as well as hers. And so Jane and Nina are partnered along with Korsak and Frankie with Maura's lab analysis, they became the team again with everyone bring some type of skills to the forerum. So now Nina is a part of the team and is invited to Maura's house for Sunday dinner where she is introduce to the rest of the Rizzoli family and everyone. So now the homicide detective is formed once again - Jane, Korsak, Frankie, Nina, and Maura...

AN: I just thought that I try this out a bit. I'm no writer of course but this little thought just came to mind...thats all.
