Blue, by Salix Ardens
Rating: PG, for (horrors!) one sweet (F/F) kiss
Disclaimer: Yup...not mine. How unfair is that?
Notes: Tara and Willow take a walk in the park. Mush ensues. Early season 5, maybe? Willow's (yay) POV.

The sky was, not surprisingly, blue. That tends to happen in California. But today, it was extra blue. There were no clouds, no haze or smog or anything but the blue that went into infinity and came out the other side. I walked next to Tara, beautiful, sweet, loving, adorable, incredible Tara, and I held her hand and knew that whatever happened, we would always have this, this walk in the park, this wonderful day, and the blue that went on forever.
We walked in silence, not needing to talk because I could tell I would never need to say anything to make her understand the perfection that I knew she was, and her gentle grip on my hand told me everything she had never said, out of shyness or a deep-seated, unfounded fear of rejection or some other irrational human flaw. She squeezed my hand once, and I turned my head to look at her and saw so much love in her eyes that I fell in and drowned and went to heaven in her arms, and then I came back down to earth but I was still in heaven in the blue of her eyes.
"Hey," she said, and I smiled. I held her in my arms as I leaned on the railing of the bridge, her head nestled on my shoulder, and suddenly I had a flash of memory, but it wasn't memory because it hadn't happened, but I knew it would and I knew I would remember it forever. It was so important that I remembered it before it happened. My memory was this:
Tara, her face turned up to the sun, the day exactly as blue as this one. Tara, singing. I'd heard her sing, but this wasn't anything I'd ever heard before. It was pure pitch and melody and wonder and love, so much love in her words. You make me believe, she sang. You make me complete. And then we were on a bed that I hadn't seen but I knew it was ours, and I moved over her and smiled as she sang again. You make me complete. And then it stopped.
"What is it?" Tara looked up, concerned, as I snapped back to now and the blue. I stroked her hair, so soft and fine and beautiful, and I answered.
"You." And then she smiled, and she straightened up and I looked at her, the blue infinity of the sky giving way to the blue infinity of her eyes, and we kissed, our lips meeting for what seemed like forever as blue infinity melted into perfect eternity. Her lips were so soft and warm, just like her hands on my back as she held me close on the bridge. I lost myself in the kiss, warmth and desire and love shooting through me at the touch of her lips, her sweet breath mingling with mine as we pulled apart. I had never loved her more than I had at that moment. Her eyes were so blue as she said, "I love you." And I smiled and said, "I love you. Always." And she smiled again, and I smiled again, and we laughed and walked hand in hand over the bridge into infinity, eternity, and blue.
