Chapter 1
It was a dark and rainy day, he watched as the paramedics took his fiancé through the swinging doors. She was pregnant with their first child, a boy apparently.
After being restrained by the doctors, he sat down with his hands holding the misery he was experiencing. He hated the feeling. They were supposed to have dinner at the restaurant he always took her to, feed her dessert and then go home where they would spend the rest of the night making passionate love. He smirked at the thought, but then guilt overcame.
He blamed himself for putting her through pain, even though he wasn't the cause of it. A driver who was under the influence took over their lane and had caused them to crash. The impact was so great that his eyes went a blur almost immediately. That was all he could remember. He woke up feeling groggy and had a terrible headache. He held his head and flinched at the sharp pain the wound on his head was giving, but he could not compare it to the feeling in his stomach.
"M-My wife, how is she?" he asked hysterically
The doctor looked at him with despair then placed her hand on his shoulder urging him to sit down.
"She's going to be alright, right?" he asked with a smile.
"She hit her head on the dashboard. T-The blood rose to her head, w-we tried our best, I'm sorry." She said with sympathy.
His eyes widened, a single tear escaped and everything in front of him stood still. She was dead? The words echoed through his head.
"She can't be… dead. She can't be dead!" He raised his voice. "She was going to have our baby, our little boy. We were going to get married soon, you can't tell me she's dead!"
"Mr. Uchiha, here was nothing we could do." She frowned.
"Our baby, did he survive?"
"He went into shock soon after we took him out, we tried to resuscitate him but it was too late. I'm sorry." She said sadly as she walked away.
Sasuke's whole world came crashing down as he sank to his knees and began weeping. Everything was gone. His beautiful wife, the son he spoke to, but never met. Everything.
42 years later
"You know what I miss about her the most?" the aging man asked.
"Her smile." replied a pale blonde as he stood next to the pinkette staring at the two marble tombstones before them.
"How did you know that?" he looked completely surprised.
A small laugh escaped his lips but he said nothing.
"I guess he just knows you better than anyone else." Said the pinkette with a smile
"Naruto, have you been keeping you psychic powers from me?" Sasuke asked widened eyes
"You're getting old Sasuke, let's go."
This was my first short story and I think it was pretty good. I know some of you might be angry for posting other things instead of the new version for White Rabbit but I just thought of this and couldn't let it just pass. By the way, it's going to take a bit longer than expected to post White Rabbit, I'm experiencing terrible writers block but be patient with me please. I have started, written about three chapters (Halfunfinishedcoughcough) though the third one is complete but I obviously can't post that. Please bare with me!
Oh and please review! I'd like to know what you think! :3
