I usually don't like time travel fics. Most of them have the person be overpowered and even when they aren't, knowledge of the future give them a rather unfair advantage. However with Pokemon, i feel comfortable doing one. while he will have knowledge of gym leaders' pokemon, i'm willing to bet that anybody could find that with a bit of research. While i do have a favorite pairing, i haven't decided on what it will be for this story. smarter!Ash Time travel. maybe harem if the story progress in that direction.
Ash shot up. Last thing he remember was battling against several legendaries that Team Rocket upset. Wait, Dialga used roar of time. He need to make sure every one was okay. Tearing off the covers, he leapt out of bed. However he wasn't aware of the change he went through. After recovering from the fall, Ash noticed he was smaller then he was when he was fighting. The noise attracted someone based on the sound of footsteps. Opening the door, he saw his mom. However, she was younger than he remembered. Looking around the room, he realized that he was in his childhood bedroom and that, like his mother, he was also younger. The only explanation was that Dialga's roar of time somehow sent him back in time. "Is everything okay, Ashy?"
"Sorry, just a bad dream," said Ash. Ash could tell his mom didn't believe him. He never was a good lier. "Random question, how old am I?"
"You're five," said Ms. Ketchum, worried that everything might not be okay for her son. "Are you sure you're alright?" Delia placed her hand on his forehead. "You didn't hit your head when you fell out of bed?" Thankfully, Ash was saved from an interrogation by someone knocking on their door. "I wonder who that might be?"
"I am curious too," said Ash as he watched his mother leave to answer the door. While she was gone, Ash was getting used to his smaller frame. The sudden change made it slightly difficult to walk. He was getting used to walking when he heard his mom gasp. Shooting out of his room, Ash was prepared to protect his mom only to be tackled by a yellow blur. Looking down at his chest, he saw a Pichu tearfully nuzzle him. "Is that you, little buddy?"
"Pi," the small electric pokemon nodded and hopped onto his shoulder. Petting Pichu, he saw his mom walk upstairs, curiosity in her eyes.
"Do you want to introduce me to your friend?" asked his mom.
"This is Pichu," said Ash, trying to explain Pichu without revealing that he was an accidental time traveler. "We met a while back. We fought at first, but after an encounter with a wild Spearow, we bonded".
"Why haven't you introduced me to this little cutie?" asked Delia. She knew he wasn't telling her everything, but she trusted her son.
"I thought i would get in trouble," said Ash. "After all, I'm not a trainer yet".
"That just mean you can't catch him," explained Delia, remembering what she learned while studying under Professor Oak. "You can still bring him home".
"Can he live with us?" asked Ash, not wanting to leave his buddy. "I'll take responsibility for him".
"Of course, he can," said Delia with a smile. "Now it is still nighttime and you have an important day tomorrow".
"I do?" asked Ash as Pichu said, "Chu?". Delia giggled as both her son and his pokemon friend tilted their head, mirroring each other.
"I'm surprised you forgot," said Delia. "Tomorrow is the start of Oak's Pokemon Summer Camp". This caught Ash and Pichu's attention. That was where they first met Serena. Remembering his female friend from Kalos caused Ash to blush. Delia noticed this and did what any parent would do. "Is there someone you're excited to meet?" Tease their child mercilessly.
"Kinda," Ash said before glaring at Pichu, who was laughing. Deciding to get back at his best friend, he reminded Pichu of a certain pokemon. "Buneary". This caused Pichu to stop laughing as his cheeks darkened from pink to red.
"Who's Buneary?" asked Delia, not recognizing the name.
"Just a pokemon that fell in love with Pichu," Ash said. "I'm going to go back to bed. Don't want to fall asleep during Pokemon Summer Camp".
"With you, I don't think that's possible," joked Delia as she left.
"This is starting to feel like one bad dream," mumbled Ash as he laid down.
"Chu?" asked Pichu as he leapt up and laid next to Ash.
"We're going to meet everyone again," Ash said, getting a nod from Pichu, "but they won't know us. It's going to be difficult to treat them like complete strangers".
"Pichu," agreed Pichu sadly.
"Well, like Mom said, we got an important day tomorrow". With that, Ash and Pichu fell asleep, curious at what tomorrow might bring.
Short chapter I know, but this is more of a prologue than anything else. Now I have three questions I want to ask you.
1st: Pairing: do you want Ash x one girl or Ash x multiple girls?
2nd: Memory: do you want only Ash and Pichu/Pikachu to remember or do you want some of Ash's other pokemon to remember? Sorry, but no humans other than Ash will remember.
3rd: Movies: simple question. Do you want me to include movies in this story?
