The Meadow

The light shines down,
And lights up his face.
A millions diamonds sparkle
As rainbows reflect on the surrounding trees.

My heart flutters.
He is beautiful;
Pale skin, topaz eyes,
Perfection.

I can't help but stare;
He catches my eyes.
A smile that radiates appears on his face,
A smile that is just for me.

He is hesitant,
I am not.
I feel the need between us,
I cannot hold back.

My hands explore his.
I caress the contours of his forearms,
His skin is cold to touch.
A cold that is comforting to me.

He thinks I will run from him
But I won't.
He is all that I want,
And I am his heroin.

I want to get closer
But he is scared.
I lean toward him
And he runs.

I am sorry for this,
So is he.
He was not ready
But I was.

He returns
And I continue exploring his arms.
He pulls away,
Not to run.

He leans forward,
Moving toward my throat.
I am tense
But unwilling to move.

He brings his head to lean on my chest.
I am not afraid,
He relaxes and so do I.
He listens to my heart.

Its strong beat sooths him,
His cool cheek sooths me.
He is where he belongs
And so am I.
