A/N: This story is about M/H, Mulch/Holly. I've been thinking about writing such a thing for quite some time, and here it is then. I'm an A/H shipper, to make it clear, so I do not actually like this fic, but it's also a tiny bit about A/H, this story. Anyway, please R&R, and no flames!
Disclaimer: I still do not own Artemis Fowl, A/H would've happened if I did.
He was always watching her. It was so hard for him not to watch her. She was so pretty, so… perfect, it seemed. She couldn't possibly come from this world. Yet, she did, how impossible it might seem to him. He had mostly seen her in panic, stress, or hurt, but he still found her the most beautiful creature of the earth, and of what lies below. He remembered when they first met. She'd caught him stealing, and he'd tried to wriggle his way out of the situation that followed. He hadn't appreciated her beauty back then, hadn't seen it at all. How could he have been so blind?
And now, just when he saw it, and appreciated it, she was taken. Everyone knew it had been coming, but he had kept some hope, which was now destroyed. He watched them, and got jealous when he saw her whisper something in the humans ear. Didn't she see it was sick? A human and an elf. Even worse, the kidnapper and the kidnapped. It was as sick as can be. And look, now she kissed him. Couldn't they at least pay attention to the fact that there was an audience? Jealous person here, hello! Didn't she see that they should be together, not her and that puny human?
'Look at Mulch, he's daydreaming again.' She giggled.
'I
wonder what he is dreaming about,' the human replied.
'Maybe
about our latest 'save the world'-mission?'
'Or he could
be thinking about you. He saw you shooting those goblins, and
marveled at how sexy you are.'
'Artemis, shut up!' She
laughed. The human continued.
'And right now, he's wondering
what's under your shirt.' Human winks at her. 'In five minutes,
he'll be daydreaming about…' She silenced him with a kiss. And
all the time, the daydreamer sat in his chair, overhearing their
entire conversation. His jealousy was barely containable.
His stomach protested when he saw them again. It was too unnatural, too gooey, he couldn't take it anymore. He watched her again, his eyes admiring her body, drinking it in. Who knows how much time he had left? He might not see her again for years. He hadn't seen nearly enough, yet his brain thought it was time to show some memories. He remembered the time he'd saved her from trolls, and the time he'd rescued the C-Cube with her. If the human hadn't been there, she never would've been in grave danger, but now she is every couple of months. His nails bit in his hand when a memory surfaced. He wasn't supposed to have it, yet he did. It was the memory of her, kissing the human in the gorilla cage.
She was on the human's lap now, her head on its shoulder. His jealousy and need for her were so big now, it almost hurted physically. He turned his head away, but couldn't do that for long. He had to watch her, had to hear her voice, talking sweet, loving words in the human's ear. He imagined it was him on whose lap she sat, who she kissed, who she whispered to. It were his fingers, not the human's, that stroked her hair, his lips on her neck. Lost in fantasies, he watched her. Like he always did.
