A golden wolf was trotting across the dusty, brown slopes that was October in Amethyst Mountain. A year ago, humans had captured her, and for a few months she had lived in captivity, monitored by the humans. She was eventually released out, the humans giving her a black collar that seemed to lead them to her. They had never harmed her, but this didn't mean that she would give her trust to humans. They were sort of like wolves was what she learned. There were the good and the bad.
She had gotten back to her pack in the winter, where the heavy snowfall was enough to hide a pile of rodents and still look normal. The pack had thought that she had dispersed, and were not too keen to take her back in. Instead of getting a sort of 'Welcome back', she was chased by her own kin into the unknown.
But the past was through, it was now more important to think about now, especially today. She had to hurry to meet her.
It was a few more minutes of walking, and she was finally there. She saw a small, white and gray wolf who was sat in a clearing. She started to fizz with excitement, but at the same time, she was nervous, in more than one way. The gray wolf pricked her ears and turned to face the golden-pelted wolf. "Aurum! Finally, you're here!" They bounced around happily. "Yes, am I really that late, Sheba?" Aurum questioned. It was weird for Sheba of all wolves to be bouncing around like a pup, she was usually the quiet, sensible wolf. "Eh… No, I'm just so excited that you're finally here, and we can finally leave!" Sheba replied, smiling. "Sure then, why don't we get going before Sage decides to search the whole mountain for you." She turned to the sky. Dawn was starting to break, and the wolves of Yellowstone would soon be up, dispersal or pack. "Right! Let's get a move on." Sheba barked, and the two trotted away, the sun slowly rising on the horizon behind them.
