Memories of my Youth....
~Gaara~
I watched the pink-haired girl in front of me chew on her lip ring, green eyes staring at the stars. She looked over at me and smiled. The sun was down and the only light was from a streetlight. "Gaara. Do you think I've...changed?" she asked, smirking. "Deffinitely." I answered with a chuckle. She scooted over to me and put her head on my shoulder. "How so?" she asked, vivid green emerald eyes staring into mine. "Well...for starters...your outfit has changed quite a bit." I began. It was true. The red dress, green shorts, and tennis shoes had been replaced by a short, red and black striped skirt, knee-length boots, fishnets, fingerless gloves, and an all-black spagetti tank top. Her lips were coal-black, the result of the black lipstick. Her green eyes were lined with sparkily black eyeshadow. She laughed roughly. "True. Anything else?" I thought for a bit. "Your attitude. You were so sweet and...innocent. Now you're gothic lolita." Her long pale white fingers reached up into my hair. "And you were...evil." she sighed. I tilted my head. "And I'm not now?" I snickered. She laughed with me. "Not as evil as you were. I guess we worked like anti-drugs for each other." I blinked. It was true. My memories dipped into the days of my youth, 12 years old and younger...
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
I remember the first day I laid eyes on Sakura. Her vivid pink hair stood out in the desert. I was alone, clutching my teddy. She was with her class, but the other girls ignored her like she didn't exist. That made me sad. She began to sketch doodles in the sand. I couldn't resist. To my young eyes, she was the prettiest girl I had ever seen. I began to send messages through the sand. I wrote, "HI." I saw her jump and look around, confused. She shrugged and wrote back, "hi." My heart lept. She was talking to me! "WHY ARE YOU SO SAD? :(" I wrote hurriedly. "I'm lonely. Ino is popular. I'm not." she responded. " :( I'M SORRY." I wrote. I meant it, I really was sorry that such a pretty girl was so sad. "Thank you! What's your name?" She asked, "I'm Sakura. :)" I began to write back, hesitating. "I'M...GAARA." I finally answered. ":) cool! oh gee, I have to go. Bye!" My heart sank as I watched her class dissapear. "BYE" I finally wrote, in case she ever came back.
The next time I saw her, it was in the Village Hidden in the leaves. I reconized her right away. I had gotten good at hiding my emotions, however, and I'm not sure she even reconized me. Her pink hair was at least waist-length now. I let my gaze travel up and down her. "My name is Sakura. What's your name?" Memories from long ago flooded my head. She noticed me staring at her, however, and blushed. "Sasuke-kuuun! We'll be late!" she called. Her voice was so melodous. I fell head-over-heels in love. "Hn." The one named Sasuke answered and landed next to her. "eee! you're so cool Sasuke!" she squealed. The blone boy next to her looked annoyed. That nearly broke my heart. She was in love. Then again, what did I expect? She didn't know me. Luckily, I hid my pain and told my siblings, Temari and Kankuro, to keep moving or I'd leave them behind. They hurriedly caught up with me.
As we walked through the forest, my parasol kept the sun from beating down on me. I hated the sun. The moon was much better. "This Forest of Death isn't very intimidating." I snarled. Kankuro and Temari looked at each other, worried. They knew what would happen if I was unhappy.
