Loud festivities could be heard, coming from the Great Hall this night. Why wouldn't they celebrate? The Master was dead, gone and never to return, leaving his followers with the shattered pieces of a still growing empire to shove into obscurity.
All he need was to get out of here, to get to Lucius before dawn-
"Severus, child! Where are you going when such celebrations are about?"
Damn him! The dark haired man thought angrily, turning to meet the gaze a smiling Headmaster.
"I have somewhere to be tonight, sir. If you may excuse me-"
"You are going to see Lucius tonight."
A statement, the Snape noticed grimly, not a question.
"I really must be going Headmaster."
The older wizard sighed, looking directly into his former pupils eyes.
"How many times have I told you to break your ties with that man, Severus? How many?"
"Sir, with all due respect, please sod off."
How dare that bastard tell him to abandon the one person he loved more than anymore in the time he was needed most?
With an almost silent 'pop!' the furious and fearing wizard was gone, leaving Dumbledore standing by the large oak doors.
Sighing sadly. The Headmaster shook his head and made his way back into the Hall.
"Gods damn it, Lucius, open the door!"
The thin man clutched his cloak tighter around himself, and not seconds later the door was yanked open to reveal the blonde Malfoy looking around frantically.
"Get inside!"
Before he could protest, Severus was yanked inside the Manor by the Malfoy who owned it. Hair in disarray, and eyes somewhat frantic, Lucius hissed,
"What are you doing here?! What if you're caught?!"
The Snape said nothing, but pulled the taller man into as intimate a hug as he could in the public of the Malfoy's foyer.
Boxes littered the room, next to cabinets and pulled up floorboards, and in front of secret panels. To each box at least five house elves were bustling, throwing in armfuls of objects at a time.
"I can't believe He's gone." The blonde whispered, following the other wizard's gaze, "It wasn't supposed to end like this."
"We will manage, Luc." Severus replied, using his lover's nickname.
"I do suppose we will have to, won't we?"
As if noticing for the first time what a clutter the room was, Lucius muttered something and asked,
"Would you like to move this to the Green Rooms? Surely they must be far more comfortable than this mess."
Smiling, Severus followed the Malfoy towards another wing of the large house.
"How did you manage to get past Dumbledore?"
An elegantly pale arm encircled the thinner man in a loving embrace.
"I told him to sod off." Severus replied honestly, to which Lucius smirked broadly.
"Only you, Sev. Only you."
"No," the Snape contradicted, "I'm pretty sure plenty of people would tell that man more colorful things than I did."
Lucius shook his head, still smiling.
"Love me, Sev?"
"Always, Lucius. Always."
