Prologue

Everything was quiet in the forest as the moon shone on the grass as if it were revealing a path. Suddenly, a flash of brown scurried across the earth`s floor and stopped, then leaped ontop of a fallen tree. The moon revealed the brown figure to be a tabby tom, who`s amber eyes were staring deep within the bushes and the depths of the forest. Once the tabby got a good enough look at his surroundings, he ran off, only to pause by a river where he saw another tom, except this tom had a ginger pelt and green eyes.

"So what is the reason that caused you to bring me here, Brackenstar?" asked the ginger tom.

Brackenstar took a small breath and spoke, "I have brought you here because my clan needs something from the other clans, including ThunderClan."

"Now what would BurrowClan need that would involve the other clans?" The ginger tom`s whiskers twitched upon Brackenstar`s words, "Your clan doesn`t need to get anything from ShadowClan, WindClan, and RiverClan. After all, BurrowClan is a close ally of ThunderClan, the others don`t need to get involved."

"Hear me out Firestar." The tabby said with the flick of his tail, "All BurrowClan wants is more territory. We were cut short due to the fire, remember? Without more territory, BurrowClan might grow over populated and will have to split into two or send most of our cats to the other clans."

Silence rained. "Brackenstar, I`m not sure if my own clan will approve of this, especially the other clans. It`s just..." Firestar looked at Brackenstar. Both cats carried the scent of being nervous, but neither of them choosing to confess it. "Well this is why you`re a leader, Firestar. The leaders make the big desicions. If you can convince all the leaders, or at least half of the leaders, to approve of this, then it`ll be a success! Brackenstar suggested.

"You`re a leader too! Don`t think that just because the other clan leaders and I are more known, means that you can get out of this." Firestar hissed, "If the whole 'share our territory' idea does succeed, will StarClan even approve of this choice? I mean, there certainly could be a negative side to this ordeal." Brackenstar`s fur ruffled and a chill went up and down his spine. He did not expect his closest friend to question, or even deny, his request. The tabby then turned from the ThunderClan leader, and walked away without speaking another word...
