Raph hadn't thought about it before, but he had never seen April with her hair down. Not when she was staying in the lair. Not in outer space. Never. It fitted her strangely, though he hadn't had time to focus on her appearance. She clutched at her head again before straightening up. Her eyes glowed like storm lights, and her voice had a strange echo.
It drifted through his mind again. Donnie was dead. He pushed it away. He had to focus on April now; even thinking her name hurt. There was nothign left. He changed his view of her then. She was no longer one of his best friends; she was simply a threat to be elimnated.
He lunged and wrapped his arms around her. "Hurry up Mikey!" He snapped.
Mikey shifted his eyes, his grip on the handle of his weapon loose. It was obvious that he didn't want to fight her. To eliminate her.
And Raph didn't want him to have to deal with the guilt later either.
Raph gritted his teeth. He'd do it himself if that's what it took.
He pulled a throwing knife from his wrist wrappings and stabbed downward with all of his strength. He cut her again, a thin line across her ablaster neck. Suddenly she stopped struggling with the force of a grown man. Her hair fell around her face limply. She stopped glowing like a damn light bulb. And then she was just a sixteen year old girl, dying in his arms. She lifted her head weakly to look at him, her eyes wide in confusion.
He bet her head hurt like hell. Not that it mattered all too much now. She opened her mouth to speak, and blood dribbled out of it, running down her chin onto his fingers. She coughed, or attempted to, and then her eyes fell shut and her chest stopped moving. He felt her pulse flutter under his hand, and then she was gone.
Mikey dropped his nunchuk. "Raph! What did you do?" He reached a hand out gingerly to touch her, then pulled away. "Is she… is she dead?" He took a step back, almost as if he was afraid.
But he couldn't be, could he? Raph was his brother; he had done this to protect him. Leo stared silently as Casey took a step forward angrily. "That was April man. Why the-" Leo yank him back as his hand went towards his hockey stick. He growled at him
Raph blinked. Casey had growled.
April's body was cooling in his arms, as Leo pulled him to the side. "Not now. We need to drop her off by the police station first, then tell her dad. Until then, hold it together. For her."
Casey yanked his arm away and glared at him before taking a tentative step towards her. Raph had to admit, he didn't think Leo would pull the 'in her honor' bull crap for a couple days at least.
He kneeled down beside her, brushed his hand through her hair. Ever so gently, he lifted the crystal off of her neck and threw it to the side. It landed in a puddle, which began to glow.
I rarely do this, but I can't figure out if I want to continue this or how I will. So, if you want me to continue, following/favoriting will work. I haven't decided if I want to bring Donnie back, so comment with what you'd like. I'll make the next chapter 2000 words ish maybe.
