"Neal should be dead right now."
As soon as Emma heard Belle utter those words, she heard a cry of pain and saw Neal collapse on the ground. Another face flashed on his, the one of his fathers.
"I think you're father's inside of you, I think that's what keeping you alive," Emma said.
"You have to use your magic and separate us," Neal gasped.
"But you'll die."
"You need him more than you need me. Please. Just do it."
At this, she took his hands in hers and focused her magic on separating father from son. A burst of light and her hands were now in those of Rumplestiltskin, and Neal was lying on the ground. Dying.
She rushed over to him and cradled his body.
"Neal. Just hang in there. Please." Emma said as the tears began to fall down her face.
"Hey. It's okay"
"You haven't even had a chance to see Henry yet. For him to remember you."
"He doesn't need to. All he needs to know is that in the end I was a good father." Neal reached into his pocket and pulled out something Emma never thought she'd see again. The keychain. The one he stole for her all those years ago.
"I've been saving this to give it back to you. Take it. Go find Tallahassee, even if its without me."
"Neal" she says as she takes the charm from his grasp.
"It's okay. I'll be watching over you guys from somewhere." He said as his eyes began to close.
Emma leaned her head toward his. "I love you" she said and then kissed his forehead, her face wet with tears.
As she did this, a ring of light shot out from her, knocking her back. And then she heard a gasp.
"What... what happened" she heard a shocked Neal say, sounding too alive to be dying.
She then realized what happened. Her kiss had saved him. She had saved him with a kiss of true love.
"Neal, you're alive" she said with astonishment. She pulled him up to a sitting position and hugged him.
"I love you too" he whispered in her ear and hugged her back, and she let out a relieved giggle.
She had saved him.
