Special thanks to heather2408, who gave me the inspiration for this oneshot in her story 'A to Z of Lily and James'! Go and check her out! :)

Lily had her eyes fixed on the girls back. She couldn't. How dare she.

How dare she what? She was just talking to him. Why did she even bother?

Oh no, she leaned in closer. That was not good. Not a good sign!

"Lily, what are you looking at?" Alice asked from across the table. "First you want to go to the library to get some work done, and now you're not doing anything."

Lily tore her gaze away from the blonde Ravenclaw's back. "Nothing," she mumbled, focusing on her book again. But from the corner of her eyes, she kept glancing at the girl.

She had a strange feeling every time she glanced at her. Was it jealousy? But to be jealous, she must first like the boy the girl is flirting with.

And Lily did not, under any circumstances, like James.

Or did she?

She kept looking at them, ignoring Alice's giggle. Them. He and she. No.

Suddenly, the girl waved her hand, gesturing towards her giggling friends who were watching them. She was probably saying they were waiting for her.

James nodded, looked at the girls and then back at the girl in front of him. He said three short words, and Lily assumed he'd said 'okay, see ya'.

The, the girl leaned in and whispered something in his ear. James smiled in response. Then she pressed a quick kiss on his cheek, waved and walked away.

Lily could only stare numbly.

She hadn't... she hadn't... she...

James looked at them until they exited the library. Then he sighed, and turned around.

Lily thought he would focus on his book again, but suddenly she found herself staring into a pair of hazel eyes.

She immediately looked away, pretending to be completely absorbed in her book. Meanwhile, she covered her cheeks with her hair, so no one could see her blush.

"He has stopped staring at you and is now leaving the library," Alice whispered, and Lily looked up at her.

Leaving? Was he going after that Ravenclaw?

She looked at his table again, only to find him still staring at her. Then he winked.

"Alice, come up to our dorm," Lily said while standing up and packing her stuff. "I'm gonna kill you."

She glared once more at James, in response to his wink, took her books and walked out the library. Alice came close behind her.

"C'mon Lily, if you're still denying it now..."

"Don't. Say. Any. More," Lily hissed, while setting off to the Gryffindor tower.

She was NOT in love with James Potter!

Alice only smiled satisfied.
