Hey y'all. So I just saw Madame X for the first time and thought it was GREAT! Although I must admit I thought the ending was a bit disappointing, but it's still a wonderful movie. I initially only watched it because Keir Dullea was in it, and he's one of my favorite actors. But I thoroughly enjoyed the movie overall. Anywho, getting off track here. This is just a oneshot depicting Clay Jr.'s thoughts after the trial and his conversation with his girlfriend Jules.

DISCLAIMER: I do not own Madame X or any of its characters. i only own Jules

Clay Anderson Jr. sat in the taxi, staring out the window with a vacant expression. He was silent all the way to his apartment building. He wet inside and up the stairs, thinking the whole time. There was something about Madame X…

"Clay?"

he turned when he opened the door of his apartment. His girlfriend, Juliette, but whom everyone affectionately called Jules, was standing in the kitchen, making a drink. Clay smiled slightly. "Hi Jules"

"How was the case? did you win?" Clay was silent as he walked over to Jules and put his arms around her, hugging her. Jules immediately leaned into the hug, resting her chin on his shoulder. "What's wrong?" Jules asked softly.

Clay pulled away slightly and looked down at her, tears brimming in his blue eyes. "She… she's gone"

Jules gasped, frowning. "Oh Clay, I'm so sorry!" Jules could see the hurt in Clay's eyes. She wondered why. Of course she could understand his being upset at his client passing away, but he seemed very upset, as though he had lost a family member or something.

"I can't explain it Jules…" Clay said, moving to sit on his couch. Jules sat beside him. "I felt as though…. As though I knew her somehow…she was so familiar to me" he sighed, and Jules put her hand on his shoulder.

"You felt a connection with her?"

Clay nodded. "Yes. It's so strange… I've loved her since the moment I saw her… but that's crazy, isn't it?"

Jules smiled a little. "Only if you think it is Dear"

Clay sighed again, feeling tears well up in his eyes. "When I realized that she had gone… I felt as though a piece of me died with her"

Jules nodded slowly. "Will you go to the funeral?"

"Yes, of course" Clay turned to her. "Will you go with me?"

Jules smiled a little. "Absolutely"

Clay stood, taking Jules' hands in his and pulling her to her feet. "You're so wonderful Darling… thank you"

Jules' smile widened. "You're welcome Clay" she sighed and laid her head on his shoulder.

Clay was silent for a moment. "it's funny"

Jules lifted her head from his shoulder and looked at him. "What?"

"Madame X, she…" Clay hesitated. …in many ways she reminded me of… of my mother"

Well, how was it? I hope you enjoyed it, and I'm tempted to write more oneshots with Clay and Jules, maybe even a full fanfic. Let me know if you want me to write more, your input is SUPER important! So I hope you enjoyed this oneshot, and please review!
