Welcome to Africa

"So, tell me again why we're headed to Africa? Isn't this the sort of problem that the Dimensional Heroes would be up for?" Hitomi asked.

"Hitomi does have a point. I mean… doesn't Chris know them better than us?" Natalie asked.

"Well, Chris Redfield is an old friend of mine that I used to help out from time to time. And the reason we're going is that people on the black market are planning on selling a bioweapon known as Uroboros to terrorists. Though there isn't any hard evidence to prove if it's real or not." Kido explained.

"And he needs us to prove its real?" Makoto asked.

"I guess that's the gist of it." AJ said before everyone looked at him. "Hey, don't look at me, I sold Medical compounds, not Bioweapons."

"Well, the thing is, I can only take one of you with me. A large group could cause problems and casualties." Kido said.

"So, what? We're supposed to hang back while we watch you and one of us slaughter BOWs and black market thugs?" Hitomi asked.

"Well, that's not a problem. From time to time, I'll have each of you swap out with each other. Amber can also use her Squid Beakon's to help deploy each of you. AJ, you'll go with Kido." Kokonoe said.

"Me?" AJ asked.

"Well sure, you said it yourself. You dealt in Medical Supplies and sold them. Also you're a Con-Man, so you'll fit right in down there, AJ." Makoto said.

"That's true, but I've never really been in a Bio-Weapon Black Market before…"AJ said.

"It's alright, let's just take it one step at a time." Kido assured.

"We've arrived. Before you go, here are some comms for you. I'll contact you and provide info from time to time during the mission." Kokonoe said handing two earpieces to them.

"Alright, thanks Kokonoe." AJ said.

"I'll be transporting you two near the entrance to the town. Good luck." Kokonoe said as she transferred the two of them as they found themselves in a wide-open land.

"There's Chris." Kido said as they saw a rough looking man exiting out of a jeep as they approached.

"Kido, thank you for coming." Chris said.

"It's no problem at all. Chris, this is my friend AJ Drake." Kido said.

"A pleasure to meet you, AJ." Chris said before he was taking out some stuff from the jeep as a woman approached.

"Welcome to Africa." The woman said as the trio turned to her.

She had light brown skin, neck length hair in a ponytail, a fitting purple singlet, beige pants, knee-high boots, along with an assortment of African jewelry and a tattoo on her left shoulder.

"My name is Sheva Alomar." She said introducing herself to the three.

"Chris Redfield, this is Kido Takuya and AJ Drake." Chris said as Sheva shook hands with the three of them.

"Your reputations precede you three, Mr. Redfield, Takuya, and Drake. It's an honor." Sheva said.

"Just Chris, Kido, and AJ, thanks." Chris said.

"So you're here to accompany us to the destination?" Kido asked.

"Yes." Sheva said. "Tensions have been running high ever since the change in government."

"I'll bet. Intel says it's a haven for terrorists now."

"And they're not gonna be happy to see an American. BSAA, Hero, or not. That's why I'm your partner; help put them at ease." Sheva said.

"I'm sure you'll do just fine..." Chris said as Kido, AJ, and Sheva began walking to the entrance and stopped as they turned to see he was remembering something. "Partner." he muttered to himself.

Flashback…

A grave that said Jill Valentine was shown.

End Flashback…

"Chris?" AJ asked.

"You OK?" Sheva added.

"Yeah, sorry… It's nothing. Let's go." Chris said.

The group then moved through town as a guard approached Sheva and spoke to her in native tongue before searching her.

"You don't have to get touchy." Sheva said as she showed him her I.D. before turning to the trio. "Let's go." She said as the gate opened and the four stepped through.

"So, what's our plan?" AJ asked.

"Kirk says we need to gear up and then take down a black market deal happening in Kijuju." Chris said. "We'll need to rendezvous with our contact at the butcher's shop, we can gear up and get briefed on the mission there."

"Got it." AJ said.

"You can also set up those Beacons in safehouses and rest spots any time you wanna redeploy a wingmate. Think about where you are and what wingmate is best suited for the job, Kido." Chris said.

"Right." Kido said as the four moved through town and saw a group of townspeople and saw one of them hitting a bag as something was moving in it. "There's something off about these people."

As the four were walking to the butcher's shop, Sheva turned around as the others followed and saw the townspeople mysteriously vanished.

"Where'd all the people go?" AJ asked.

"I'm not sure, let's get to the butcher's shop quickly and meet up with our contact." Kido said.

"Chris, Kido, this way." Sheva said as she and AJ went to the side as Kido opened the door and saw a man waiting for them.

"Good, you're all here, come." The informant said. "You four, this way." he said motioning his head as the group followed. "It may be because of the new government, but people around here are a little on edge. You should do what you came here to do and go home."

"Yeah, they really roll out the red carpet for us Americans." Chris joked.

"I have your weapons for you here. Check them." The Informant said motioning his head to a large metal briefcase as the group approached it.

"Uh, sir? There isn't anything for me." AJ said as the other three geared up.

"Yes, I see. Come, I have something to show you." the man said as Kido, Chris and Sheva got changed. The man then showed AJ a gun equipped with chemical compounds and a mixer.

"Is that… my Chem-Gun?" AJ asked taking it. "Where did you get this?"

"A young woman named Kokonoe found it and asked me to give it to you when you arrived. I'm sure you'll find it very useful for this mission." The informant said.

"Oh he will." Kokonoe said over the comm. "Merry Christmas, AJ."

"You sure have a way with presents, Kokonoe…" AJ said cocking the gun and going back into the other room.

Chris was dressed and geared up in his BSAA uniform while Sheva had an ammo carrier around her shoulders and Kido had a holster for his pistol and ammo cases on his belt.

"Destination Coordinates?" Sheva asked.

"Town Square's up ahead. Go through there, Alpha Team's waiting at the deal location." The informant said.

"Good." Kido said.

"What do you know about, Uroboros?" The informant asked.

"Mostly just rumors...Something about visions of a doomsday project." Chris said.

"Doomsday sounds about right, and apparently it is no rumor." The informant said.

"You're kidding right?" AJ asked.

"You must find a man named Irving, he's our only lead." the informant said as he began leaving before turning to the group. "And be careful out there." He said as he closed the door.
