APPROVED!

One word, one big red word changed the Berry's life forever, unbeknown to them if this change would be positive or full of struggles but both Hiram and Leroy were more than ready to take on anything this new challenge through at them.

"Hiram, they're here" Leroy shouted up the stairs of the Berry's three story house, his hand shaking.

The doorbell rang just moments after Hiram reached the foyer nervously taking his husbands hand they opened the door to Suzie and a young girl in her arms, Rachel.

Rachel was estimated to be 5 years old but her appearance made her look roughly 3 years old, her hair long brown and matted with food and mud, her figure scrawny, she looked positively terrified her big brown eyes fixated on the floor as if it would jump up and grab her any time soon.

Rachel was found hidden in the shed of Erica and Henry drug users, drug dealers, thieves, alcoholics and now child abusers, the young girl had yet to learn how to walk as she spent her days curled up on the dirty faeces infested, insect ruled floor, she would feed on dirt and the occasional

scrap of moulded food thrown through the broken window which was her only source of light and sound the outside world brought her, she growled when she felt threatened due to her speech being non existent.

"Sorry she's not clean, they tried to bathe her at the home but she screamed so loud the other children started to cry, she desperately needs bathing though, her hair needs to be cleaned as it is crawling with bugs and lice, she will need to be seen by a doctor no doubt she needs years worth of vaccinations not to mention medication for diseases or conditions she got" Suzie explained to us seeming very eager to get this over with so she could leave.

"We will make sure that Rachel will receive everything she needs here" Leroy reassured the women who passed a now growling Rachel into Hiram's awaiting arms.

Saying her last goodbyes Suzie quickly left the Berry's stood in the doorway of their home holding the tiny girl whose body froze completely, they carried Rachel to her new room which had previously been decorated by Quinn their niece, the room was painted Pink with little butterflies on the wall, in the middle of the room stood a four poster bed with pink sheets and a canopy.

"This is your new room my child, we can put more things in it once we know the things you like to do" Leroy told her unbeknown of the level of neglect Rachel had faced.

She growled lunging for the unicorn teddy on the bed, holding it with her teeth, shaking her head like a dog wrestling with it's toy, Leroy stared in horror whilst Hiram looked heartbroken.

"Poor princess she's been through so much, she should be loved and nurtured not kept locked away like some animal, they held each other whilst Rachel sniffed the pillows and cuddly toys.
