A/N Please, please, please take into consideration that this is my first fanfic. So when you do review (which I really encourage) please be kind :). Enjoy.
Almost forgot, disclaimer: I do not own Vampire Academy, it belongs to the magnificent Richelle Mead.
Prologue
It was raining, just like yesterday and the day before that, typical for the weather this time of year. So, Dimitri and I were snuggled together on the couch, watching nothing in particular on TV. We were so bored. Well I was, I couldn't speak for him. We'd done everything we could do on a gloomy day like this. We made a synchronised dance to Gold Digger byKanye West together, we tried baking cookies, that is something I'm never, ever, ever doing again. We even tried origami, and by "origami" I mean folding the news paper into two crappy pirate hats.
We had nothing to do... until Dimitri found the closet that had my Monopoly board game and suggested we play. Besides the fact the game is hardly ever finished, that game for some reason has never ended well.
When I was twelve-years-old I played it with Lissa – this was one of those rare occasions where the game was actually finished and not abandoned -I absolutely thrashed her. Not just once but everytime we played. Probably part of it was because By the time she was fourteen she refused to play with me.
So I played with Eddie, Mason (before he was killed), Adrian and anyone else who was up for it. When I played Eddie, I accused him of cheating, when it was actually me who taking the money... but who doesn't? Things didn't end well when he realised I was never short of cash and had the stolen monopoly money stashed underneath me. He didn't talk to me for three days. Because of this he only plays with me if he's desperate.
With Mason the competition was intense, you'd think our lives depended on it. That was if we got the agonising part of deciding who got to be the car. You can't imagine how hard that was. A game with Mason generally went like this: The argument over the car, several intense rounds the board trying to get the good streets like Mayfair street and all the railways too. After 20-35 minutes of that we'd both get bored and start chucking the houses at each other which would escalate to the hotels then to the metal tokens. Many days later you'll still find those little green houses in the weird crevasses in between the furniture.
With Adrian, well, a good description would be: it's a bloody massacre. Whenever some plays with him there are more rules broken than there are chickens in South America. You can imagine how that always ends up. Therefore it needs no further description. It safe to say you only play with Adrian if you lose a bet or if you absolutely have to.
Come to think of it I have never played Monopoly with Dimitri so the only reason I agreed to this inane game was to see how it played out. See who will thrash who. To be honest I think I will win. Dimitri could be tough when fighting strigoi but when playing games he was as soft as a marshmallow.
I am so going to thrash him.
Thanks for reading this and I know it is sort of short... Oh I forgot to mention that I'm from New Zealand, NOT AMERICA! This means we spell certain words differently, for example "relized" is spelled "relised" so I'm not a bad speller. Updates may also take a while, because I'm also a slow typer but I will try. 3
