This relates to the scene where Renji runs in on the Kuchikis asking Rukia for adoption. This is later that night. I just thought Renji thought this. I know the name of the things that Byakuya wears in his hair is misspelled and wasn't wearing the scarf at the time. (So don't flame me on it) Oh well that's why this is called a fanfic! XD

------------------------------------------------------------

Oh my God. I did it! I passed the second exam. I must go tell Rukia. This is so awesome!! I barged through the double doors. Then I saw them. An Older man dressed in prestige. Then I saw him. Keiseisan. The scarf. The way he held himself. I didn't know who the hell they were, but I knew that they where nobles.

"Looks like we are being interrupted", said the old man. "You think about this and we will be looking towards your answer."

They started to leave. Ugh. That spiritual pressure coming for the man with the keiseisan… I couldn't move. I couldn't look him in the eyes. My gut sunk.

"Who were they?" I asked.

"That was the Kuchiki Family, Renji. They want to adopt me as their daughter. I don't know what to do." Rukia said.

I was shocked. By the sound of things, my advice was probably the push she needed to make her final decision. Although my head said no, my heart knew the right answer.

"Do it, Rukia. Think of the luxuries you'll get to be around. Think of the clothes you'll be wearing. I wonder what nobles eat? Man, Rukia, I'm jealous."

Rukia took her hands and removed my hands from her shoulders and muttered a light "Thank you." She ran off. I could have sworn that moment I saw a single tear fall. My heart sunk because I knew this would be the last time we would ever speak.

Later that night I took a walk. I sat under a tree to think about things. That day I lost the last of my family. No, I never had a real family, but I considered Rukia family. I have only spent my whole life with her. My heart was ripped out of my chest.

However, I must remember the good things about this. She was able graduate early. She didn't have to take the final exam and she had immediate entrance into one of the 13 Court Guard Squads. She had luxuries galore. Beautiful clothes. Exquisite foods. More power and respect. Knowing Rukia, she stayed as humble and kind as she ever was. And above all she was got a family...a real family.

I swallowed my pride that day. I truly love her. Rukia's happiness and well-being meant more to me than having her in my life. I believe someday I will have her completely back. I'm still a mutt howling at the moon. I believe the Kuchikis would make Rukia happy. So I am now focusing on one thing. I am going to work and try my damnest to surpass and be stronger than the leader of the head of the Kuchiki Clan - Byakuya Kuchiki. So I can prove that I am worthy of Rukia.
