Remus hates Valentine's Day. At least, he hates it this year. Because he's alone. It shouldn't be called Valentine's Day, he thinks, It should be called Have-A-Date-Or-Else Day. He's always had a valentine before. Or a group of friends without valentines, which made the day bearable. But this year, he's alone. James and Peter are dead, and Sirius...

He growls, beating his head against the wall. It hurts, hitting the wall with one's head. Still, it hurts less than the betrayal. He feels the knowledge beating down on him, coming back to his mind. Sirius, Sirius, Sirius. his mind whispers. He roars, ramming his head into the brick wall over and over again. It hurts like a thousand dull needles landing in his skull. How could he have been so blind? No wonder Sirius was so happy when the Fidelius Charm was put in place. As the blood trickles down his face, his flicks out his tongue and licks it. The salty taste returns him to the here and now.

"Idiot." He whispers, his hoarse voice ring over and over again in his head. "You should have known."
