Beyond Salvation

Cracked

Destroyed

A shadow of what it used to be

But only the mind was crippled

Perfectly intact was the body

The essence lost into limbo

Damned to the seventh level of hell

The path to redemption, a long one

A road never travelled

who would venture there

What is the point

If the soul is gone

The body is left an empty shell

Is a mere mortal worth saving

perhaps not

What are you left with

When the essence is lost for eternity

What is redemption

for something that is beyond salvation

Everyone thought he was lost forever. Nothing could be done. How wrong they were. He was stuck in a place unimaginable and he couldn't get out. He could see light and yet, he could also see darkness. It was threatening to engulf him and yet, he would not let it, he had so much left to live for. Well, in retrospect it was quite little but anyone who knows true love understands that the one you love is your first, your last, your everything.

All he needed was someone to save him, someone to bother. She was there, he could see her yet could not touch her, talk to her, feel her with his fingertips. He wanted to call out, ask her to save him but his voice would not co-operate.

'Please, someone...'

They say if you love someone, you'll let them go...what if they haven't actually gone anywhere? They are just beyond reach, temporarily perhaps, but one cannot really tell.

What can you do for someone like that...if they are beyond salvation? But the question is; is anyone, ever, until the moment they die, truly beyond salvation?
