Billows of white dandelion seedlings floated across the contrasting ashy sky. Chao Xin watched them dance with a smile, hands reseting across his slow moving stomach.

He was lying in a grassy field, not too far from Beylin temple.

There were days when he relished in relaxing, letting the time pass by. After all, there wan't much to do ever since the World Championships ended.

Yes, he his other team mates from Wang Hu Zhong still trained, but for now he just wanted to feel zen.

He closed his eyes, allowing the serenity of the surrounding area bring him peace.

It came as a surprise when he heard the clinking of shoes come up from behind him. He hadn't expected anyone else to be around.

He opened one of his umber eyes lazily and stared up to see Mei Mei running over.

"Hiya!" She called over perkily, waving wildly before accidentally skidding and falling next to him.

"Careful!" Chao Xin exclaimed in surprise, putting his arm around her to help her sit up.

"Oww." Mei Mei moaned, rubbing her head, as small tears welled in her eyes.

Chao Xin shook his head with a sigh. Well it was calming while it lasted.

He took one last glance over at her to make sure she was okay before lying back down and closing his eyes.

Mei Mei looked at him in curiosity, sitting on her knees. "So what are you doing out here?" She giggled.

"Resting." He murmured.

"Oh!" She declared, realizing he wanted silence. She sat, biting her lower lip as she tried to stay quiet.

Chao xin was almost drifting off to sleep when her voice invaded his thoughts once more.

"I don't think your being honest." Mei Mei scolded, causing his to sit up.

"Huh?" He questioned, staring at her in confusion.

"You've been missing all day!" She pointed out, wagging her finger in his face.

"So?" He shrugged, still missing the point.

Mei Mei seemed unhappy with his answer, folding her arms with a pouty expression. "So cuff it up mister! What's going on?"

"That's "cough" not "cuff"." He sighed, as a sweat drop formed on his forehead.

"Well whatever, that still doesn't explain anything." Mei Mei frowned, not caring that she was coming off pushy.

Chao Xin rolled his eyes and remained silent for the longest time, staring off into the distance at the sun which was now beginning to set.

"I got stood up, last night on a date." He replied sheepishly, a sad look crossing his face.

Mei Mei bursted into giggles, tears rolling down her face as she held onto her stomach.

'Wha-?" Chao Xin glared in anger, mouth agape in shock. She thought this was funny?

She gently placed her hand on his shoulder and was finally able to reply, "I'm sorry. But you should realize by now that half the girls you date are lousy choices."

He frowned, running his fingers through his chestnut hair. "Well how else will I find what girls right for me?"

"You'll figure it out." She smiled, kissing him on the cheek before hopping up and running back to Beylin temple.

He was unable to take his eyes off of her as she ran, green braids swaying in the wind.

"Wait for me!" He called out, laughing as he darted after her.

Maybe she was right, he had been looking in all the wrong places.

I felt like doing a one-shot for the pairing, so I hoped it turned out okay. Thanks for reading, feel free to leave any feedback~ lily
