"Hey, Jin," The boy said awkwardly.
"Hi, Lee," Jinora said, self-consciously brushing her hair to the side.
"So..." Lee cleared his throat. "Happy Birthday. I got you a present."
"Really? What is it?" Jinora asked meekly.
The boy quickly whipped something out from behind his back.
"Candles; you know, for the cake. You mentioned earlier you hadn't bought any yet, so I thought you'd like these." Lee said, hastily shoving them in her direction.
"They're nice," Jinora said, a smile tugging at her lips. "They're better than the ones at the supermarket."
"Thanks. They're from the Earth Kingdom city; Omashu. I bought it from a nomad, and I thought you might want them. I guess I shouldn't make a big deal, since they're just candles, but they're panda-lily scented and I know you like those. They also look kind of nice, don't you think?" Lee said, nervously tugging his sleeves.
"They do," Jinora grinned. "And I love panda -lilies. Thanks."
"Uh, yeah. You're welcome."
The kids hesitantly moved in to hug.
Their embrace was soon cut short by a loud, obnoxious cough.
The kids practically leaped away from each other, and Lee ended up slammed against the wall.
Twenty year old Avatar Korra was standing before them smirking, making no attempt to conceal her amusement.
"You know, kiddies, romantic rendezvous are supposed to happen at night."
"Yeah, but my mom would kill me!" Lee muttered, turning red.
"Speaking of angry fathers," Korra started, shaking her head and laughing. "Jinora, Tenzin's going to be pretty upset that you snuck this kid past him,"
"But you won't tell, right Korra?" Jinora asked hopefully, wringing her hands anxiously.
Lee nodded in agreement. "Um, yeah. It's the Avatar's duty to help those in need, right Avatar Korra?"
Korra grinned. "You make a fair point, young badgermole. Don't worry, Jinora, I've been sneaking around under Tenzin's nose for three years, I'm not about to turn one of my own in!"
Jinora and Lee sighed in relief.
"Thanks, Korra," Jinora said appreciatively. "I'll make this up to you. You like fruit pies, right?"
"No thanks necessary, ma'am," Korra said, mock-solemnly. "Now listen close,"
The Avatar leaned in to reveal the confidential information.
"The courtyard by the airbending gates is a great make out spot after eight," she whispered mischievously.
Lee gasped, dumbfounded.
Jinora blushed bright red. "Korra!" she yelled, mortified.
Korra laughed uproariously, clutching her stomach. "Just passing on some of my Avatar wisdom. Don't go there at nine though," she warned.
Korra smiled dreamily. "That's Makorra time, baby."
"A-Avatar Korra!" Lee yelled, flabbergasted, while Jinora facepalmed. Why did Ikki have to come up with that name?
"Relax, I'm only kidding." Korra reassured them, snickering.
"Nowadays, we have Makorra time in a bedroom a little more often," she said suggestively.
Lee blanched and Jinora hid her face in her hands.
At that comment, Lee hastily told Jinora he had to go and promptly jumped out the window and took off running.
"Korra," Jinora started shakily. "Don't ever talk to me about that again. Ever."
