Dawnstar's legacy

Dawnstar is a relative of Bramblestar and Tawnypelt. She lives in Thunderclan, which has adapted. The camp and hunting actions resemble a combination of Riverclan and Thunderclan. Here is her life story.

Prologue

Four cats sit around a starry pool. A golden tabby tom argues with his gray- furred bother. "This kit will need our help! We can train her in her dreams. We all have a gift to teach her."

Jayfeather rolled his eyes at his brother. "Why should she be helped? We had nobody helping us." The pale she-cat was tired of hearing the littermates argue. She stepped in between them and meowed, "She needs all the help she can get. This is a lot of fate sitting on one cat's shoulders. We will help her and that is the final word on the matter."

Hollyleaf nodded her head in agreement and said, "The training will begin on the night of her apprenticeship and we will all help her." The last part was directed at her grumpy brother with a fixed glare. The starclan cats nodded and went their separate ways.

Chapter one

Thunder boomed over the roof of the nursery. Dawnkit rolled closer to the warmth of her sisters. There was a muffled growl and she was shoved away. Dawnkit sat up, and for the first time ever, opened her eyes. She blinked away the fuzziness and glanced around. To her left, her four sisters and one brother were curled up against their mother. Lilyheart was a tabby cream she-cat with soft brown eyes that glowed with pride at her daughter. She nudged her other kits up to greet their sister. Lilyheart purred loudly as she said,

"Kits, meet your sister, Dawnkit. Dawnkit, meet your brother and sisters. The brown tabby is Fawnkit; the golden tabby is Tawnykit, Leopardkit is the speckled brown one; and your youngest sister, Hollykit. This is your one and only brother, Eaglekit." Dawnkit was surprised at the long list of names. Lilyheart purred at her kit's expression. "Hollykit and Eaglekit are not my birth kits but they needed a mother so I said I would take care of them." Dawnkit nodded and cringed when the thunder boomed again. Tawnykit stepped forward and gave a small smile. "I can't wait to show you around camp! But it looks like we have to wait anyway." Another clap of thunder echoed through the sky. Not long after, it started pouring. A black she-cat in the corner hissed loudly. " Mousedung! The roof's leaking. It had to be right over my nest didn't it?" Dawnkit was disturbed by the irritated she-cat. Lilyheart purred. That's Shadowstorm. Her growl is worse than her bite. She's actually very nice."
