Russia and America glared at each other, their trademark smiles still in place.
England and France were just barely stopping themselves from going after each other's throats.
China and Japan wouldn't look each other in the eye.
Germany was being thoroughly ignored by the others.
Romano had stomped out of the room several moments ago.
And Canada? Kind, calm, quiet Canada? He was quietly seething; teeth clenched in an effort to not break the stifling silence.
Even Italy could sense the animosity pouring from the other nations. He hated it. He hated this silence and the feelings that came with it.
A few hours, they'd said. They had begged for a few hours of silence so at least they could get work done.
But with the silence came think-time. And with think-time came remembrances decades-old feuds, arguments and grudges of the past.
Italy loved the noise so much more.
